So far I have used this mixer for making frosting and whipping eggs, with no problems. I know the reviews for other cheapish mixers usually complain about splattering at high speeds, but this has not been the case with this mixer. Other cheap kitchen appliances I have get that burning motor smell when used for longer periods of time, but even whipping eggs for 10 minutes didn't seem to affect this mixer. For a cheaper product, this seems to be a good choice.

After doing some research around and comparing consumer's opinions, I decided that I wanted a Hamilton Beach 62695R Power Deluxe Hand Mixer. Once I arrived at the Target store I switched to this one, which was more powerful and was on sale for the same price. I am glad I did that!So far I totally agree with the previous review - "no splattering at high speed". I love its performance and its design. This is a 290-watt peak power plus slower first speed... I certainly recommend it!

this is a great little mixer. light weight, great attachments. love the case that snaps to the bottom to store the attachments. Also a good price too, I feel that I got my moneys worth and then some, I am very pleased with this mixer!

I lost my Braun mixer because I was in a flood.Trying to save a few bucks, I bought this mixer instead of a Braun. It takes much longer to beat egg whites, so I'm disappointed. I won't return it. It will have to do. But I'll always wish I had spent the extra dollars and purchased a good mixer

Good value, 1 minor shortfall,

I've used this hand mixer for over two years now, mostly to make cookie dough & whip egg whites (stiff peaks). Although I initially had problems with some splattering, this situation was easily remedied by using a high-sided bowl (duh!) The mixer has more than adequate power to handle cookie dough, which is as thick any recipe I make gets. The power burst button is handy at times. The only shortfall is I haven't been able to find a set of dough hooks, for when I make pizza dough. For the money, this mixer is an excellent value.

I've only used my mixer twice, both times for cake, and it has performed wonderfully. I had cspecifically ordered this model because it came with a whisk and drink mixing attachments, but I am yet to use either.

I was very pleased with this mixer when I first got it; it all fit together in a nice case, it was easy to handle, the controls were simple to operate with one hand, and I liked having a choice of beaters. But the more I used it, the less I liked it. It became harder and harder to wind the cord back into the storage area, so I started skipping doing that, which made the handy case harder to reassemble; so I stopped doing that. But no big deal; except the stupid beaters started falling out. All the time. I would fuss and fuss and they would seem like they were seated properly... and then they would start falling out into my mixing bowl. I tried switching them, thinking I had the left/right thing wrong, but nothing worked. I struggled along for a while by keeping the beaters facing down and in the bowl while I was mixing, but now it's gotten even worse. The beaters jam up and make the motor growl and I have to turn it off quickly before it burns out. I gather this is a sign of a worn clip bushing. Which I could understand from years of use; but honestly, this mixer started doing this the third or fourth time I used it, and I've only used it sporadically since because it's such a pain to use. I don't use a hand mixer for cookie dough or anything tough; I use a hand mixer for whipping egg whites and creaming room temperature butter. So I've used this mixer about 20 times over the past year or two, and now that I'm cooking and baking more I'm ditching it with extreme prejudice. Getting this one instead. I am very happy with this mixer. I love that it has a low speed -- a hard thing to come by. I also like that it has a container to hold the beaters, which makes it easy to put it away. With luck it will last!

Powerful, Strong Beaters, Great Whisk, but TOO NOISY!,

I bought this for my wife after her Kitchenaide's beaters bent out of shape from normal use. It didn't seem to make sense to buy more beaters... I always thought they were flimsy. SO... this model caught my eye. The beaters are stiffer and have stronger welds than the Kitchenaide. It's great to have the whisk attachment. BUT, the unit is VERY noisy and the plastic bin that is supposed to clip under the unit for storage warps and falls off. Not a bad unit... just not perfect.

I gave this item to my daughter and she loves it. She said it does run a bit fast in the slowest speed, but other than that it's great. Easy to use she loves the different beater attachments, and the handy storage case keeps the attachments together.
