So right there, before I even open up the book, before I even click the BUY tab, RIGHT THERE ON THE SCREEN I am confronted with a complete and utter lie. That Jones co-wrote this with an MSNBC analyst should be illegal. Was there no conflict of interest as pertains to the trial coverage?
God, can't we leave the poor guy alone in his damn wishing tree? Bob Jones--you're a Black man. if Michael Jackson hates Black men, how is it that you worked so closely with him for DECADES? Why would he keep you on the pay roll? More importantly, why would you stay?
Most important of all, why would I ever read this book?
I would like to note that i DID NOT read this book, but rather skimmed through it for a while at the bookstore. I do not normally comment on or write reviews of books that I have not read. However, prior to skimming through this book, I already had the backstory on the author as well as having spoken to people who knew Michael well who had shared many honest, truthful stories with me about Michael's character. I had also done an incredible amount of research for the website I was creating in regards to Michael, his character and his life, and everything that I was reading while paging through this book went against what I knew to be truth, so I felt compelled to comment on it at the time.
Some of the highlights included the author stating that Michael wrote a letter in his own feces! It then went on to say that he knew that Michael spoke of "doo doo", but didn't realize he liked it so much. This paragraph of the book alone should be enough for people to throw the book down in disgust, and run as fast as they can out of the store!
He also goes on and on about Michael not liking black people (funny how he spoke up about racism and defending his race often and visited Africa and defended Africa so often and spoke of Africa and told people how beautiful it was. The author loathingly and arrogantly kept referring to Michael as "The King" followed by all kinds of very sarcastic comments. You can read anger and resentment in this book from cover to cover. So with that kind of tone to the book, it makes me already feel very cautious about the content.Read more ›
Why, for God's sake would you continue working for such a man for so many years? If Jones had had integrity, and a sense of what is wrong or right, he would have stopped working for Jackson right away. But he ended up working 34 years of his life for the man, and what does that tell us about him and his integrity?
Therefore, this book is worth exactly the same as all the other books written by former employees, scorned wives (and such likes) - NOTHING.
Moreover, it has no literary value whatsoever.
In my opinion, it is a poorly-written attempt of revenge.
