nice job by fans,
This review is from: Michael Jackson - Fans Camera Footage, By Fans For Fans (DVD)
this came as part of my mega-box set i received the other day!
i can hardly fathom all the crowds that followed mj everywhere he went - that must have been so exhilarating, yet tiring at times for him to hear squeals and shouts everywhere he went - even just on ordinary errands like shopping. the scene when he was in the hotel, there were lots of screaming fans below his room - wow, you can tell that mj was really loved. one of my favorite parts was when fans were watching him shopping and they kept saying, "i love you michael," and he turned and faced them and said, "i love you too." he looked right at them as he said it, turning around. it was quite cool - he was so loving and patient with adoring fans. some footage on here is definitely shaky, but i agree with another reviewer who said that it may just be because the fan was filming michael jackson - how thrilling would that be?! i personally love the homemade look! i loved getting a view of mj outside of concerts and the music films he did - although of course they are fabulous - it was cool to see him shopping and doing other things. i recommend this - but i'm glad i got it in the mega-box set and not as a single because it was cheaper that way.

MICHAEL JACKSON FANS CAMERA FOOTAGE,
By "Dani girl" (CA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Michael Jackson - Fans Camera Footage, By Fans For Fans (DVD)
This dvd shows footage taken from the cameras of those who were blessed enough to happen to cross paths with Michael Jackson. Wow! That had to be a day they will never forget!
This came as part of the Michael Jackson Mega Box set I purchased. I've done a review on the set as a whole but I will use part of that review to give you a brief overview on this dvd. what you will find on this dvd: -MJ out on shopping trips -Michael speaking at Oxford University -fans at an event singing "Happy Birthday" to Michael and also chanting "Sony sucks!" -Michael at a hotel with fans outside of his window screaming "I love you, Michael!" and singing his songs (Michael then pops his head out for a second, shows a picture a fan had given him, and gives them the thumbs up). -Michael speaking at the National Action Network Headquarters (NANH) giving a speech addressing racism, problems with Sony among other things It's nice to see Michael interacting in "regular" situations, outside of performing. You can see him revising or adding to his notes just before he is to address the crowd at NANH, being the perfectionist that he always was. You will definitely be able to tell that these videos were taken by amateurs, as a lot of them didn't seem to have a steady hand with the camera. That could also be attributed to the fact it was "Michael Jackson" they were filming, though. I don't know that I would be any less shaky had I been anywhere near him. All in all, you will hear lots of screaming, lots of "I love you, Michael!" throughout this dvd. You will witness the enormity and scope of just how big Michael Jackson really was, and still is. As one fan declared on her sign "ONLY GOD IS BIGGER!" I enjoyed all the personal footage of MJ, seeing all the love from the fans, and all the love he gave back. There will never be another Michael Joseph Jackson...and as it's been quoted in the past, in speaking on the subject of entertainers, "There is Michael Jackson. Then there is everyone else".

Very Enjoyable,

Hello,
I bought this DVD as a part of the Michael Jackson: Mega Box along with Michael Jackson: The Interviews, Vol. 1, Michael Jackson: The Interviews, Vol. 2 and Michael Jackson: Press Conferences and Store Signings. Since there were no reviews on here yet I thought I'd give some brief information on the DVD. The back of the case says: "Fan's Camera Footage is a 2 hour DVD programme culled from over 45 hours of fan's cam footage worldwide, through the fan's eye a private and more revealing insight into the true world of Michael Jackson the superstar is shown. Adored by millions worldwide wherever Michael went the fans were there waiting, whether out shopping, in hotels or travelling, the fans captured these private moments which often portrayed more about the real man than the media myth. This candid footage, much of which has never seen before is presented here for the first time, it's a must for every true fan - taken by fans and now shown for you the fans. Contains a 32 page, 12,000 word booklet - The King of Pop, a tribute biography discography which includes a seance transcript where Michael is asked questions that were responded to using a Ouija board, a fasinating connection that will bring peace of mind to many of Michael's fans." I've watched this through once and will be watching it again tonight. It makes you wish you'd been as lucky as some of these people, he was so good with his fans and you can really see how he cared about them during this footage of Michael, taken by ordinary people who just happened to bump into him!

Going on a website like Veoh or YouTube, one can find many great little candid camera captures of Michael. I have seen many personal moments with fans captured that have made me cry and laugh and wish it could have been me. There was none of this on the DVD. Some of the footage on the DVD was worth seeing but overall I was very disappointed. There is so much footage out there, touching moments, quick clips, that I think the DVD has too much of the same thing. It's mostly ten minute clips of him standing overhead of a large crowd and waving down at them. Don't get me wrong, I love that stuff, but it was overkill of the same type of footage with no action and no real touching fan moments like the ones I've seen on the net. For example on youtube I've seen great clips like fans outside the staples center listening through the crack of the door when he was rehearsing for this is it. It was an awesome moment and the fans were so excited everytime they heard him say, "Hee, hee" through the door. Moments where he stopped his car on the way to his trial to accept a painting from a fan and told him he was a wonderful artist and he was going to hang it in Neverland. One where a girl meets him at the zoo and cries her eyes out and can't even stand and he hugs her and comforts her telling her it's ok, then signs an autograph for her. There are so many things like that they could have included in the DVD and failed to. I think it could have been so much better than it was. Still worth having if you're a collector, but I'd buy other DVD's first and save this one for last. I want to see moments that get to my emotions, like all the clips I see on the net. I will say the only reason I particulary liked it at all was because of the simple fact it was about Michael and had him in it.

I loved watching this dvd seeing Michael upclose from a fan's camera. I especially loved the end of it when Michael is in New york with Al Sharpton speaking about racism in the music business. It was wonderful seeing and hearing Michael speak his mind. Nina

Longing for More MJ Fan Footage,

I was so excited to see that fan footage was available on Amazon. I was not disappointed with this DVD. It was all that I expected it to be but it left me longing for more. I know there are millions of hours of this type of thing out there and I want more! I even found myself on this footage from 1997 so I was really excited seeing myself and reliving the moment. If you are an MJ fan/follower, this is definitely something to have.

What occult practices?,
By Suzy Simpson (Omaha) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Michael Jackson - Fans Camera Footage, By Fans For Fans (DVD)
To the guy that talked about "occult practices" on this DVD without even having watched it, that seems a little foolish, especially now that it seems you simply misunderstood the blurb on the back! It says there is a "transcript", not a video of it! It seems a bit silly to rate down something you haven't even seen and to not even review the source material.
Anyway, who are you to say what Michael would or would not have approved of? He may have been brought up a Jehovah's Witness but he wasn't really one by the end of his life; he was much more open minded than that.
