Most positive documentary on Michael I've ever seen!!,
By Menno Alberts (Amsterdam, N-Holland Netherlands) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Michael Jackson - A Remarkable Life (DVD)
Hi all...I just wanted to share my opinion on the DVD release 'Michael Jackson: A Remarkable Life'... -running time: 01:08:23 (Europe version, I don't know about the US version) However, I have to say that this documentary is probably the most positive I've ever seen about Michael Jackson. The words 'nose', 'elephant man's bones', 'child abuse', 'oxygen chamber' or 'surgery' (just to name a few out of the many notorious cliché's) do not show up even ONCE... (which is extraordinary and pretty desirable in my opinion!). It's mainly people close to Michael (in the past AND present) who tell about their experiences of working with him. They talk about the way he does things, there are some funny anecdotes and they're all really positive and all praise him for the way he works and creates. I hope my review will be helpful to all of you who are interested in this new 'Chrome Dreams' release. Take care! Menno Alberts (aka tenderoni)

I'm a huge MJ fan, but this DVD is a COMPLETE waste of $$$. It's full of commentries, hardly any shots of MJ himself. BORING too.

a remarkable flop,

This DVD contains none of Michael Jackson's music. It is full of interviews with people that dont know Michael & people that have never worked with Michael.
The DVD is full of info that everybody has heard a thousand times so dont expect to be blown away with any new sensational claims. High point would be a portion (very short portion) of a teenage Michael being interviewed. This DVD is cheap and you get what you pay for!

Great insight, but kinda dull.,

This Jackson bio was an ametuerish affair, but it had its momoents. Photos I had never seen before of the Jacksons poped up, and a snippet of an interview with a teenage jackson was awesome. I liked that they actually talked about Captian Eo, which was my favorite ride in Disney World. Special insight from real studio people make this worth watching. There is no original MJ music on it, so music fans beware. For a better jackson bio, try to find a copy of Michael Jackson:the Legend Continues. Thats a showtime special made around the time of Bad thats all positive and reminds me of the good ol days.

Don't do it - We DON'T need a DOC to know...,
By
This review is from: Michael Jackson - A Remarkable Life (DVD)
HHMMMMM...How would I like to reflect on the recent passing of the most talented and hugest music ICON the world has ever known: buying an unauthorized documentary DVD that IS "positive" but without ANY of his music?
With our forever reigning King's recent passing, lets not all scramble and buy just anything and everything! Unless you are 10 and weren't on this earth to witness it, there is no need for a positive doc about the life of our MJ, especially one with ZERO MUSIC in it. Isn't that THE most if not one of the most"REMARKABLE" parts of his life? We all saw his life unfold; we know ALL about it, the huge highs and the darkest lows. Do we realy need this DVD to form an opinion now? I think not. If you loved (and will always love) him or want to get a sense of who he was or get a history of his life listen to the music or watch what makes him a legend in HIS videos! Get the DVD Michael Jackson Number Ones or the HISTORY DVDS (Part one and two)to remember his life. Those moments and the songs they were created for are all that matters now and will tell you all you need to know.

I thought this was a bonafied DVD come to find out it was the sellers take on MJ'S life. The seller should have mentioned that in the details of the DVD. I would never buy from this seller again!

Avoid at all costs! It's got no music from the Jacksons or MJ himself. Lousy, amateurish camera work. Insipid hip-hop soundtrack. Not worth a dime!

Awful,
This review is from: Michael Jackson - A Remarkable Life (DVD)
It's obvious they couldn't/didn't pay for any rights to use his music and/or videos. It's all commentary and no MJ music or performances. More like a home movie somebody made. Total waste of money.

BUYERS BEWARE!!,

Do not buy both "Michael Jackson, A Remarkable Life" and "Michael Jackson, Never Surrender." Though they are packaged and named differently, the CDs are exact copies of each other. The publishers are obviously trying to double their money. I got taken, but don't you do it!

Remarkable life,
This review is from: Michael Jackson - A Remarkable Life (DVD)
First of all I have to start by saying, that the title "Michael Jackson-A Remarkable Life by Michael Jackson" is a wee-bit misleading. Based on this title alone, one would expect that the DVD was written or at least been produced by Michael Jackson himself, which is definately not the case at all.
That put aside, this DVD is full of interesting interviews, opinions and exciting facts on the man himself. As a fan you can get a rare backstage insight to one of the biggest celebrities of our time. So approaching the DVD with the right expectations, you can get a real new shade to the professional life of Michael Jackson from people who have been working with him personally. |
