Gloria Rhoads Berlin took the train at the age of 12 to Hollywood to follow her dream of becoming and actress. She then began her life in Hollywood as an actress sharing the same agent as Elizabeth Taylor and was in a large number of films like Cowboy with Glen Ford and many other bit parts she did like the Ten Commandments all under her contract at MGM. Dating and having lasting friendships with Frank Sinatra, Marlin Brando. She then transitioned into publicity and journalism, writing for magazines such as Hollywood Times, Hollywood Night Life, and Hollywood Entertainer Weekly. By the 1970s, Gloria had moved on to real estate, and she and her late husband Morton W. Berlin formed the Merlin Land Investment Corp. Gloria's primary focus in real estate became listing and selling luxury Estate type residential homes, paving the way for her to become the broker on the sale of the century, Michael Jackson's purchase of the ranch that came to be known as Neverland. This little book just takes about an hour to read, but it was a pleasure. The author shares some stories and memories of her time with Michael, when she was negotiating his purchase of the ranch that became Neverland. Her stories reflect on his love for his animals, the fact that he seemed enamored of Elizabeth Taylor, and his spirituality. It was good to read a work that focuses on the positive side of Michael Jackson, without being concerned with all the tabloid trash that has been written about him over the years. I would recommend this book to MJ fans and others interested in the REAL MJ.
It's too bad the press never reports on positive works such as this one!

In search of Neverland is one of the most fascinating stories I've read so far. It's shows yet again another sweet side of Michael Jackson. One that is personal and private and yet so like Michael that we, as fans know of him.
In Search of Neverland, by the author, Gloria Rhodes Berlin, gives you insight of a king before his time, becomes intimate and builds a close relationship with a magical young man whose ideals are far beyond anyone's imagination. Berlin, in a humorous gentle way, opens the magical window of Michael's most private life to some extent, giving the reader the feeling you're right along side of them. Enjoying the antics of Michael, sharing his love for nature, animals and flowers and how his dream to find his escape from imprisonment to freedom, and what it would be like when he began to build it up his dream home with the things he loved dearly. We share intimate secrets of what happened during the life in Encino with his animals, the journey into buying this forever land that would be the most magical place on earth. It's just the tip of the iceberg of many wonderful stories Ms. Berlin, who is now 80 years old, could tell us. Cherish the dreams and memories and go on her adventure. You won't be disappointed, in fact you will be surprised as to what is in store for you.

I would only wish this little book could have been bigger!
What a joy to read all the positive energy coming from Michael Jackson, and his excitement over purchasing Neverland Ranch! Plus the little tid-bits of the Author's friendship with him.. I hope she will write another book . So positive...I loved it. And the photos were great! A wonderful little book every MJ fan shoud have....
