Michael Jackson Was My Lover: The Secret Diary of Jordie Chandler

Victor Gutierrez is a freelance writer who appeared on the U.S. tabloid television show "Hard Copy" to claim that there was a videotape of Michael Jackson molesting a boy. Some background on his story can be found in the book Jackson Family Values, by Jermaine Jackson's ex-common-law wife, Margaret Maldonado. She writes that in early 1995,

" I received a telephone call from a writer named Ruth Robinson. I had known Ruth for quite a while and respected her integrity. It made what she had to tell me all the more difficult to hear. "I wanted to warn you, Margaret," she said. "There's a story going around that there is a videotape of Michael molesting one of your sons, and that you have the tape."If anyone else had said those words, I would have hung up the phone. Given the long relationship I had with Ruth, however, I gave her the courtesy of a response. I told her that it wasn't true, of course, and that I wanted the story stopped in its tracks.She had been in contact with someone who worked at the National Enquirer who had alerted her that a story was being written for that paper. Ruth cross-connected me with the woman, and I vehemently denied the story. Moreover, I told her that if the story ran, I would own the National Enquirer before the lawsuits I brought were finished. To its credit, the National Enquirer never ran the piece."Hard Copy," however, decided it would. "Hard Copy" correspondent Diane Dimond had reported that authorities were reopening the child molestation case against Michael. She had also made the allegations on L.A. radio station KABC-AM on a morning talk show hosted by Roger Barkley and Ken Minyard.Dimond's claims were based on the word of a freelance writer named Victor Gutierrez. The story was an outrageous lie. Not one part of it was true. I'd never met the man. There was no tape. Michael never paid me for my silence. He had never molested Jeremy. Period."

After the "Hard Copy" story aired, the LAPD told the Los Angeles Times that they had seen no such videotape, they were not looking for it, and there was no renewed investigation into molestation allegations. Michael Jackson subsequently filed a $100 million slander lawsuit against Gutierrez, "Hard Copy", and KABC-AM for perpetuating the story. None of these parties ever produced the videotape or any evidence it existed. Because Jackson's lawyers could find no sign of the videotape or the origin of the tale, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Reginald Dunn ruled that Gutierrez was no longer protected by the California Shield Law, and ordered him to name his source. Gutierrez did not, instead claiming that a host of people, including Elizabeth Taylor and Los Angeles County District Attorney Gil Garcetti, could verify the existence of the videotape (none of these people in fact supported him). Consequently, on October 15, 1996, Judge Dunn ruled that Gutierrez's story was false and that he had acted with malice and was therefore liable for presumed and punitive damages (the amount of which would be determined at a later date.) The writer then fled to Mexico.

In October 1997, a legal action to assess the amount of "presumed and punitive damages" to be paid to Michael Jackson by Victor Gutierrez was delayed due to Gutierrez filing for bankruptcy. Mr. Jackson's lawyers stated that the assessment of such damages would be determined and that Gutierrez would not be protected indefinitely by his action.

On April 9, 1998 Michael Jackson won the slander suit against free-lance writer Victor Gutierrez. A Los Angeles jury ordered Victor Gutierrez to pay Michael Jackson $2.7 million for failing to prove the existence of a videotape that allegedly showed Michael in an inappropriate conduct with a young boy.

"We talked to the jurors afterwards," Michael's lawyer Mr. Modabber said. "They said they wanted to send a message that they were tired of the tabloids telling malicious stories about celebrities for money. They said they hope this will send a message not to do this."

Anyone who read this book and thought it was based upon the truth need only to look at the credibility of the author through court documents.

LMAO this book is such a joke. First of all, jordie chandler never owned a diary. That was confirmed by his uncle Ray chandler. Second of all, he never gave anyone permission to publish a book about him and michael jackson. Third of all, He never considered jackson his "lover" and they were never "in love"..Use your common sense people! Why would jordie give all this personal information to some loser journalist after him and his family signed a contract saying they could never talk about the case? This book was written by a tabloid journalist name victor guirezz. He gathered his information from reading jordie's therapist interview and adding more lurid details to it..All the quotes in this book are NOT from Jordan chandler. They were put together by conducting interviews with various sources. So all this crap about "we were in love" and "michael was so passionate" is absolute nonsense. This is exactly why this victor guy was sued by Michael jackson and forced into bankruptcy. Micheal also tried to sue Diane Dimond but was unsuccessful. This book is tabloid garbage and is definetly not worth the price people are selling it for.

I don't know why Amazon has this book listed once again.It was banned in the US due to a lawsuit that Michael Jackson won against the Author. For those of you who have read this book and call it entertaining let me ask you this. Knowing that it is not a factual account of what occured but the very graphic, very explicit fictitous writing of the author do you think you should still own it? I have only read excerpts which is all I could stand and I must tell you that to write this sort of thing you must be able to think this sort of thing. It reads like child pornography and in this counrty it is against the law to be entertained by this. Thank goodness I threw the copy away that I found. I think this man should be investigated for writing this HORRIBLE book.

I think it's well known by now that Jeordie Chandler never had a personal journal on his relationship with Michael Jackson. The title alone is an insult to Michael who was innocent all along. This book was obviously done for a quick buck based on lies. I can't believe how high a used copy is selling for on Amazon but I strongly advise that you don't fall for this. At some point the book was banned and you probably read about the lawsuit against Victor M. Gutierrez the publisher of "Michael Jackson Was My Lover: The Secret Diary of Jordi Chandler". As I said before Jordi never had such a journal and this whole thing was probably orchestrated by his father Evan Chandler who would probably do anything for money since he had already sued Michael. A fan of Michael Jackson should not bother with this as it's not true and even for a collector this book is really not worth the price. I just think people should know what they are buying and this is total garbage. Despite what some sellers would like you to think, this is not a collector's item, its pure lies and total garbage there is no other way of saying it. Avoid this book at all cost and stay away from it. There are other books on Michael Jackson that are actually worth reading such as his own biography, Moonwalk, Dancing the Dream, The Michael Jackson Conspiracy by Aphrodite Jones and Michael Jackson : A Visual Documentary. 1/5 for this "book" (I can't give 0 apparently).

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO TRUTH TO ANY OF THIS BOOK, AS JORDAN SAID HE NEVER HAD A DIARY. THERE IS NO DIARY, SO THIS BOOK IS A LIE, AND RAY CHANDLER IS TRYING TO MAKE MONEY OFF THE EXTORTION OF MJ BY HIS BROTHER AND NEPHEW! DO NOT BUY THIS MEDIA SENSASIONALISTIC UNTRUE BULL. JORDY'S DESCRIPTION DID NOT MATCH MICHAEL'S ACTUAL BODY, AND THIS WAS WRITTEN IN THE POLICE REPORT, SO THIS WAS A LIE BASED UPON A LIE. This book was BANNED in the U.S., so it should not even be for sale!!! the selling of this book is a testament to the thousands of people who just did'nt get it when it came to the man Michael Jackson. it is not however a surprise to see such untalented sewage on the market. the next question is WHO is reading this book? WHO is writting this book, perhaps we should be having a peek at they're hard drives. as for diane diamond...what a sad story her career is,

Once again a book that is nothing but pure trash. Why Amazon would even offer this slanderous book is beyond me.

It's all been proven to be lies concocted for the purpose of earning filthy dollars for scum such as the author of this book and the various media snakes who make a living by selling sensationalised lies. Anything for money. Do your research people. There is plenty of information out there proving that the contents of this book is all lies. The truth makes much more interesting reading. This book disrespects the memory of a wonderful human being, that did what he could to heal a sick child, and that, thanks to his compassion, is still alive and free of the disease to which was promised to die. However, in consideration of his humanitarian gesture, Michael received ingratitude, and worse, he was offended in that he had of the most sacred, that it was the love to all the children. This excessive and cruel act resulted, at that time, in a very great disappointment for Michael, that considered Jordie as a son. And today, it results in the production of works such as this book, whose purpose, such as the Chandler Family, is to get easy money at the expenses of Michael Jackson, since the book's author is well aware that this kind of reading sells as much as the tabloids, because most people love gossips and controversial issues. Michael has always been victim of such people and, unfortunately, he continues so. This is regrettable!!!

I regret that AMAZON is selling this kind of TRASH!!!

IF MORE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD WAS AS GREAT AN HUMANITARIAN AS MICHAEL JACKSON WAS THEN THE WORLD WOULD NOT BE FILLED WITH ALL THIS NONSENSE....
