5.0 out of 5 stars I know what you're all thinking, but this game is fantastic!, December 29, 2010

Like I said, I know what everyone is thinking about by playing a Michael Jackson game rescuing little kids, but, step around that for just 45 minutes while you play it and just accept the fact this this is a great game!

The object of the game is very simple. Kids have been taken (they are all the same girl appearing 10 times per level) and it is up to Michael Jackson to save them and stop Mr. Big (who?). So, each level contains 3 sections where every single level is different from the last and there are different ways to find the missing children. There are 5 levels and 1 final stage equaling a total of 15 normal levels and 1 flight simulator level (so 16 total). It's enough to keep you entertained.

In the club level, you check all the doors and the windows to find the missing kids. Your enemies are bad guys in blue suits and waitresses. In the streets level, you have to check the cars (watch out, some have bombs). Your enemies are a bunch of punks and... dogs. Yes, dogs that sound like cats meowing. I found it funny. The 3rd level is a graveyard even though the game calls it the woods. It's clearly a graveyard with tombstones, haunted scenery, and zombies. Unfortunately, there is no THRILLER music, even if you do the dance move. So, there are zombies and birds for your enemies. The 4th level is a cavern. This place is really confusing, but simple to beat. You spend a lot of time wandering around until you find out you are supposed to spin on the walls with the spider symbol and press up+B on the circle symbols to find everyone. Your enemies are spiders, zombies, and guys with guns. The next level is the enemy base (I don't get it), but you are in a large base from like Terminator or Robocop or something with a bunch of computers and turret guns. Find the kids to win. The enemies are guys with guns. Here, you get to see MECHA-MICHAEL-JACKSON. He is a super cyborg robot that flies and shoots lasers. It is freaking awesome and puts transformers to shame! After this, Michael Jackson turns into a car and flies into space. This is the flight simulator part and is very difficult to figure out. Shoot down Mr. Big and see CONGRATULATIONS! which is spelled right.

The graphics and sounds are amazing for the SEGA Genesis. They captured everything Michael does. Everything from the dance, the hat toss, the crotch grab, the spins, and his poses. He kicks fairy dust for his attack which I didn't understand until later. He can even moonwalk! All of his trademark taunts (if you want to call them that) are in here.

The music selection is really good and catchy. Once the game starts, Michael walks through the first door, flings a quarter into the jukebox as SMOOTH CRIMINAL starts playing.

You get:
Stage 1: Smooth Criminal
Stage 2: Beat It
Stage 3: some song for the graveyard (this is where THRILLER should be)
Stage 4: Billie Jean
Stage 5: BAD
Stage 6: I didn't recognize it

Bottom line, amazing game for any Michael Jackson fan or SEGA Genesis fans.

Truly amazing game. I played this game so much back in the 90's that I memorized and mastered everything about it. The music is catchy and the game is just plain fun!! I can't tell you how many hours I logged with it. When I decided to get rid of the Sega Genesis, I still kept this game, even after I had no way to play it, it was THAT good.

The Good:
Graphics
Sound
Gameplay
Fun Factor
Replay Factor

The Bad:
Dance animation could have been smoother

Can't believe they didn't put out the arcade version of this video game.
Come on sega , give credit where credit is due.

4.0 out of 5 stars Genesis Classic for MJ Fans, August 1, 2011

If you're a fan of MJ and love sega genesis, this is an excellent buy. The game overall is pretty fun, but can get repetitive at times with all the doors you have to open and close, and children to rescue. Some see this game as a metaphor for MJ's wackyness, and others see it as just a fun video game. My opinion is that you should go with the second option because it's a great game to add to anyone's genesis collection or for a MJ fan.

This game was like a penny two weeks ago and now it's [...] bucks. What makes this crazy is that someone is selling an used old dirty cartridge. You people are making profits off someone's death. STUPID!

One of the best games for Genisis, not because of the decent control, fair graphics and great sound. It's one of the best because it's Jackson's only game. If you grew up in the 80's you'll remember when his music was good and everything he did was cool. looking back now and saying it's the same as saying O.J. was once a great football player. Anyway, In this game you walk around usin dance moves the shoot something (moonbeams, pixie dust, who knows) and rescue little kids. yeah thats right little kids. also you can drain your life/special meter and throw your hat at the bad guys or drain even more and preform a dance number (it changes every level). When you start dancing all of the bad guys, including the dogs stop everything and act like background dancers until they die. yep you can dance them to death. this really is a great game and you gotta own it if you collect Genisis games or if you just want to remember the good ol' days when he wasn't some freakish pervert.

This game is excellent for those of us who owned it before our original Genesis' broke down. You do get to dance and use it as a weapon along with the infamous hat throw and signature moonwalk. The background music is true to many a Michael album and the levels are true to the movie. You do rescue children, but they are alas, girls not boys (Annie are you ok?)!!

I've beaten the game numerous times and it is a classic!

I saw this at a game shop today. I don't like MJ, so I bought it to laugh at it. Basicly, you go through levels rescuing boys! The graphics are poor, but the sound is great! Michael even talks! Sounds like a girl. This is stupid, yet fun. Buy it if you want something to laugh at!
