Bursting with useful tidbits,
By A Customer
This review is from: Michael Langford's 35mm Handbook (Paperback)
A small book with an enormous amount of information. It won't tell you WHAT a good picture is (take a visual arts course for that), but it will tell you how to make what you consider good the best it can be via the medium of 35mm film. Almost everyone who isn't a professional camera jockey will read this book and repeatedly say "Aha! So that's how it's done!"Buy it. 'Nuff said.

Good Starting Point and Quick Reference,
By A Customer
This review is from: Michael Langford's 35mm Handbook (Paperback)
This book is great for a beginner to get a first idea of what goes on behind the scenes to create different effects/qualities in photos, and as such, provides a good quick beginner's reference to put in your camera bag. However, I feel that this should be a companion to a more in-depth book, which goes into greater detail on subjects like exposure.

Your One Stop Reference,
This review is from: Michael Langfords 35mm Handbook (Paperback)
Like "The Joy Of Cooking" is to the homechef, this is the one photography book any amateur photographer should have as a basic reference. It teaches you the things you need to do good photos and will stand you in good stead over the years as a manual on "how to" from things like F-stops to how pictures should be framed. A cheap buy at this price and worth having in your library.

BRITISH,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Michael Langford's 35mm Handbook (Paperback)
FAIRLY DECENT BOOK. NOT AS GOOD AS BRYAN PETERSON'S "UNDERSTANDING EXPOSURE"OH AND IT'S WRITTEN IN BRITISH ENGLISH. A BIT HARD FOR AMERICAN ENGLISH SPEAKERS TO UNDERSTAND. |
