Take The Challenge,
By
This review is from: Michael Learns To Rock (Audio CD)
I discovered MICHAEL LEARNS TO ROCK (MLTR) about 5 years ago. They have been around much longer than this but not heavily promoted in the US.
This is a unique band with a soft Rock sound. Initially Jascha Richters voice is the key. As you listen to their music you begin to really pay attention to the lyrics - most of which are written by Jascha, but not all. This is a band that captures you with the combination of Melody and Lyric. The ballads get most of the attention especially in the Asian market but I have discovered that each CD released has an interesting and compelling mixture of Ballads and Soft Rock. Eternity is the latest release and I suggest for listeners to initially focus on Lonely Satellight, Shadow Side of Me, I do and when Tomorrow Comes. These tracks give a good representation of the combination of Melody and Lyric I spoke of. Sweetest Surprise became an immediate hit in Asia where ballads are extremely successful.Very nice song. My challenge is to enjoy Eternity and then seek out their other individual CD releases. The greatest hits Cd's are great but I believe you miss out on the full range of songs that MLTR has to offer if you do not listen to the individual releases. This is a terrific band with CD's that you will enjoy from first track until the last. If I had to recommend just one to initially purchase it would be Nothing To Loose but also look for: 1991 Michael Learns To Rock 1993 Colours 1995 Played On Pepper 1997 Nothing To Lose 2000 Blue Night 2004 Take Me To Your Heart Another terrific listen is Jascha Richters solo effort Where I belong. Seek these Cd's out. You will become as big a fan as I am. Tell your friends!

I've always been a Really BIG Fan of MICHAEL LEARNS TO ROCK and wish that they could do some of their tours HERE IN THE U.S. sometime soon. I love ALL their music and really Love this CD as much as the others that I have. I hope that Amazon.com can get more of MLTR's CD " Take Me to Your Heart ~ Michael Learns to Rock" soon, as I would love to complete my collection of the CD's of theirs, that I am trying to get a hold of. Amazon.com needs to find more sellers that may still have some copies of their "Take Me To Your Heart" CD... Even though, for some reason or another, that the CD is no longer available... As good as that CD is, I can't understand WHY IT WOULD BE DISCONTINUED!!!! PLEASE TRY TO GET THIS CD BACK ON THE MARKET... Amazon.com should try to contact the Group or the Record label who has the rights to the CD and see if they could put it back into print... IT'S JUST NOT FAIR, TO BE DEPRIVED OF SUCH GREAT MUSIC!!!! >:-(
