What a great debut album from a great writer and musician!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Michael Peterson (Audio CD)
This is a bulls-eye from a very creative artist and Michael Peterson deserves all the recognition he is getting. Most of the songs on this album are good songs. The only song I didn't like was "For A Song," and that was because the song was just too slow. Songs like "Lost In The Shuffle" and "Love's Great" are good songs from the album that were not released. He did good in releasing the songs he did release. His debut single, "Drink, Swear, Steal, and Lie," is a very cool and unique up-tempo love song. The song "When The Bartender Cries" is a great song about an alcoholic facing himself for the first time. Another up-tempo song that is real good is "Too Good To Be True." Other good songs on the album are "By The Book," "That's What They Said About The Buffalo," and "Since I Thought I Knew It All." The best song on this album by far, however, is "From Here To Eternity." It is such a beautiful love song which asks the question "will you marry me?" It is one of the very few songs I know of that asks that question, and it is easily the best of the songs that do. His great voice also sings it with a lot of emotion and conviction, which makes the song that much more believable. I suggest you go out and buy both of his albums, "Michael Peterson" and "Being Human." You will not regret spending 25-30 dollars on these great albums. Michael Peterson has a very good future ahead of him.

Michael Peterson,s CD is the ONLY CD I have ever bought because I "Had to Have It" ! I never even owned a CD player until AFTER I bought this Disc. I have been listening to Country Music all my life (a LONG time), and have never been this impressed with ONE particular artist. This One has it all. It will make you laugh, cry, dance, think about the way you look at others as well as yourself. And most of all...It will leave you happy inside and out. Something we ALL need. Great CD ! *****

Legend in the Making!!!,

This review is from: Michael Peterson (Audio CD)
When I first heard "Drink,Swear,Steal, and Lie", and I was completely blown away, I got the album as soon as it came out, and was amazed at the amount of Great songs on it. This album is the best thing I have ever heard, Michael is definitely going places. He has a strong tenor that is smooth as honey, and he handles it with skill. His songs are arranged in a fun way that would make you laugh, cry, than laugh some more, and end with really making you think at the end with "For a song," Each song on this album be it happy or sad is written with incredible skill and sence of humor, even "When the Bartender Cries" the tearjerker of the bunch, will make one chuckle. Its punchline is "you know you're in trouble, when the Bartender cries." the second cut on this album is "Love's Great" the anti love song with a twist that will get you laughing real hard, It's really up beat and happy. The Duet with Travis Tritt, "I finally passed the bar", is a funny song as well, done in a way that at first it seems like the song is about law school, when it's really about quittin' drinkin'. The best honky-tonk song I have ever heard. "From here to Eternity", speaks for itself, a gorgeous ballad that has helped so many people propose, was a #1 single for Michael, and was named the wedding song of 1997. "That's what they said about the buffalo" is as country as they come, the cut after it, "too Good to be true" starts out with a contrasting hip hop beat, but is very country at heart, and is a song that just gets ya movin'. "since I thought I knew it all" is a sweet, sad song, and "By the book" is sad but the tune is so upbeat, it makes for a great combination, and gives hope that he couple in the song will get back together, at least it does to me. My favorite, "drink ,swear, steal and lie" it just makes me happy every time i hear it. I love this album, can't wait to see what Michael has in store for us in the future.
