I will never forget what a friend told me in connection with Michael W. Smith's (MWS) Worship DVD. After my friend's dad died, he was alone and isolated. Worship DVD was a lifeline that kept him from getting lost in grief. Over and over again he would watch it with tears in his eyes. It was one of his few sources of consolation.

I remember how moved I was the first time I saw it. The opening segment and song medley are electrifying. A New Hallelujah DVD also has a dramatic opening (something characteristic of Smith's live performances) but it doesn't quite reach the same level of excitement.

It was also inspiring on Worship to see and hear 15,000 young people enthusiastically worshipping God on some classic contemporary praise and worship songs. A New Hallelujah is set in a larger venue (Joel Osteen's church) with a more subdued audience.

MWS set the bar high on that first release. What it lacked technically it made up for in passion. However, in some ways, A New Hallelujah DVD is more satisfying. It's a little more artistic. Some songs have more depth lyrically and musically, and it's technically superior as far as the stage, lighting, sound and camera work. For those who are tired of the rapid MTV-style movement often seen in concert videos, this has a welcome relaxed pacing.

One reason the first DVD was such a phenomenon is that some of the songs, though simple, were classics. This DVD comes close to that on songs like "Mighty to Save." Smith is also in fine form on "Deep in Love With You," a signature MWS ballad addressed directly to God. Another highlight is seeing Uganda's African Children's Choir sing and dance in their colorful clothing.

It's hard to replicate a prior experience. It's best to approach this as something new rather than a continuation of an earlier event. A New Hallelujah may not be as moving, but it is rewarding for those who appreciate excellence.

Nice to see a wonderful Christian artist at work & bringing the house down with his praise for Jesus Christ!!!! Keep carrying this product & many like it. Thank you, thank you!!!

This is without a doubt one of the best worship DVD's yet. I would recommend this to anyone who loves the Lord and who loves to worship. Amazing!!!

As usual this is an awesome concert DVD from Michael W. Smith. I love the beginning of the concert with the drums as well as the song Mighty To Save. Highly recommended by me. The only thing that disappointed me a little is that there isn't as much special features on this DVD as there are on the other DVDs he has made. Still an awesome concert though.

This is a great worship experience.

The music, video, sound quality and the flow of the concert are all outstanding. I have already watched it several times. With my upconverting DVD player over HDMI, it has near-HD quality. The videography is very well done. It always contributes and never detracts from the music.

The only things I wish they had added is options for on-screen lyrics and the ability end the concert after the 14th song (Where the CD ends). The remainder is more of an encore.

I liked the behind the scenes extras. You realize how much effort goes into capturing a live concert for video.

I'd never listened to Michael W. Smith before so was not sure what I was getting when I purchased this. I can honestly say that it is the best worship praise video in my collection! I was blown away by the holy prescense of the Lord felt throughout and I love Michael's voice and his choir and orchestra are exceptional! I highly recommend this product as one that will bless and encourage you in your walk with Jesus!

This DVD catches the spirit that existed at the live concert. I was there feeling the spirit moving with the thousands who were there worshiping with MWS. His concerts are always a deep worship experience. The DVD is actually of the live concert as it happened. I wish I could describe how it felt in the sanctuary when the drums started at the beginning of the concert. Then the wonderful African Children's Choir from Uganda. This is a moving DVD that will bear watching again and again. My favorite cut rises to a true worship experience - A New Hallelujah. A New Hallelujah is one of the great worship anthems of contemporary Christian music. The mixing work done for the CD is nothing short of superb. Michaels comments between the songs add so much to the total experience. I whole heartedly recommend this album to anyone who needs to be lifted up in the spirit. I know I was in the clouds for a long time after the concert. There is something amazing about being part of an experience where you hear true praise, true worship and feel the presence of God. Get this one.

Awesome worship DVD; very creatively done, 2 choirs including the African children's choir. Production quality was good, but not up to par with a first rate concert DVD. Concerns are some of the camera angles were not that great, and also it is not available in blu-ray. But overall, great to have, I highly recommend it even if you already own the CD.

I allready owned the cd A New Hallelujah and I was curious about what experience the dvd would bring to me. Well, I'm absolutely not disappointed. This is how you bring worship to live. You can easily identify yourself with Michael, but also with the people in the 'church'. I did feel the joy with the African Children's Choir and I shared the deep love with Michael to our God with Deep In Love With You.
I would surely recommend this dvd to everyone who wants to experience a live worshipping event with Michael W. Smith. You won't regret it!

I had the CD and thought the live concert would be worth seeing. It is well worth the purchase - a very uplifting experience.
