The book is a must for any art historian or Renaissance aficionado. It is the final result of decades of in depth research into the life and works of Michelangelo. The book was also awarded the title of Best Book in the year 2000. If you find this book informative I would also suggest looking at Mother Goddess in Italian Renaissance Art and MICHELANGELO'S DOUBLE SELF-PORTRAITS, also by Professor Balas.
