Book Description

"I would advise anyone who wants to know more about Bachmann to read a new book on her by William Prendergast and Chris Truscott called Michele Bachmann’s America. Prendergast, who lives in Bachmann’s hometown of Stillwater, Minnesota and has been following her for years, is like the living oracle of Bachmann." --Matt Taibbi, Rolling Stone

Michele Bachmann's America

Fiery rhetoric.

A powerful movement.

The road to the White House.

Michele Bachmann’s career as never seen before.

In the first book covering the career of Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, Minnesota-based writers William Prendergast and Christopher Truscott provide an in-depth look at a woman who has changed American politics over the last decade.

The authors, who have covered Bachmann’s career since its earliest days, take readers on a journey that spans from her political/religious education at Oral Roberts University all the way to her emergence as a serious contender for the White House.

I could not put this book down.

For years I have watched the Republican Party drift further and further from its moorings to embrace extremism and divisiveness, fabricate history, demonize secularism, dismiss erudition, and insert itself voyeuristically into the private lives of Americans even as it insists that government be made smaller and less responsive to the oldest, youngest and weakest of citizens. And I wondered what had happened to the party of my grandparents, where the Grand Old Party had gone, and who had hijacked it.

In short, I wondered at the party who could produce a spectacle like Michele Bachmann.

With meticulous research and the dispassionate insight of the veteran political observers and operatives they are, Truscott and Prendergast have shown us who's manipulating the Republican puppet strings and the impact this has on all Americans, regardless of party affiliation. Google the secretive Council for National Policy and its offspring, CNP Action, Inc. Then read Michele Bachmann's America. You'll never view American politics the same way again.
