Touring Ireland,

This review is from: Michelin Ireland (Michelin Maps) (Multilingual Edition) (Map)
I bought this map after we returned from Ireland. It is a much better map with more information and small towns than the one we were given in Shannon. It gave me a much clearer picture of the routes we took and we were able to track our journey as we read our journal and recall all the wonderful places and people we met. This map will be our guide on our return trip.

This is a great map of Ireland. It is large enough to be able to show the major roads, all of the secondary ones and a few of the smaller ones. And it had all of the Tourist sites shown that were in my Eyewitness Tour Book. My only complaint is that there were not enough detailed city maps.

I can only think of two complaints for the average Joe. The first is that the M50 is *far* more complete than the map let shows - missed my exit coming across the south because I was (foolishly on my part) waiting for the M50 to change down to a normal roadway... oops. The second was the lack of Irish names for the cities. Especially if you like to get out in the country - you might not know that "Droichead - Atha" and "Drogheda" are the same thing. I've studied a tiny bit of Gaelic, so it wasn't too bad for me, but keep that in mind if you are an explorer.
Other than that, it took plenty of normal roadtrip map abuse, helping us see the real sites of Ireland and have an absolutely amazing trip. Tip: you might just take a Irish-<yourLanguage> dictionary with you on the trip if you are interested in really exploring more. I can't wait for my next visit...

Many Errors,

This map has far too many errors to list. In many cases, towns shown a few miles from others are actually located in different counties. This map is of no dependable use for reference or travel.

Michelin maps are always good. We spent 18 days exploring and driving around the west of Ireland and this map did a great job for us.
