You really really really need this map. I went to London for the first time this summer, and agonized over which map to buy. This one is huge, so it includes almost every little nook and cranny - useful because I made myself 7 hour walking tours every day. It also includes every possible land mark, historical site, hospital, police station, etc. You just can't get lost. This map stayed glued to my hand almost every minute of the 9 days, got folded in every direction, and written all over. It feels like an old friend. (But if you go to Hampstead Heath, make sure to get a local tourist map. It's a monster.)

This is a great map with lots of details. However, it only shows Central London, so if you are looking for a map outside the area, this is not it.
