This was my first experience with a Michelin guide and I am hooked! The restaurant descriptions were down-to-earth and honest- if anything they underestimated the appeal of a particular place. The map that came with the book was a godsend- when walking about one could look at it and choose a place, call(the phone numbers are on the map)and see what the seating possibilities are. Perfect for people who want to eat well without making too many plans ahead. The multiple lists were very helpful (open on Sunday, cuisine type, etc.) when trying to come up with a place to suit many tastes. The ultimate compliment to the book came when I was getting ready to come home, and my son (who is currently living in London) practically wrested the book out of my hands to keep there. If you love food, and you're going to London, you need this book.
