A luminous paragraph appears on page 172, where Michelson is quoted as considering the Universe a continuum in which "all the phenomena... are only different manifestations of the various modes of motion of one all-pervading substance".
As a matter of fact, he resurrected the ether in his latests conferences, after having to seem resigned to its death.

Format: Hardcover
An inventor and an experimental scientist Michelson brought

a new credibility to American science and made measurement

and important occupation in physics.

There is no need to streamline a spacecraft in a perfect vacuum...

A box or a sphere will do as well.
