Elizabeth Cook's version of "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" alone is worth the price of this CD. And then there are eleven icing-on-the-cake foot-tapping tunes! Collin Raye's "Circle of Life" is the very best version of this song, of which all versions are great, because it's the one that makes you want to dance. There are also moving ballads, like "Baby Mine" and "When She Loved Me." No one can listen to "The Bare Necessities" or "When I See an Elephant Fly" and not smile. Anyone who enjoys cheerful, happy-go-lucky music will adore this CD.

My wife saw the title and said, "I don't want to hear it, since all the songs will sound like the music heard while standing in line at Disney World!" Well now she loves it, and so do I. Quite of good job of arranging and producing a very good album. It'll be a great addition to the library of both bluegrass fans as well as Disney lovers.

I first heard of this album last week while listening to Sunday Night Grass on a local Bluegrass station. I was ready to change the channel (thinking that it was going to be horrible) when they began to play "Baby Mine". I was instantly hooked! I cannot believe how good this album is! What a wonderful idea--Disney music turning Bluegrass! I highly recommend it.

High Class Bluegrass Disney,

I am a big fan of Disney, so the CD naturally appealed to me, but the Bluegrass arrangements of the songs are totally unique and worthwhile. The choice of artists is incredibly well-rounded, as well. I totally love the version of "Zip-a-dee-do-da," as well as many others. Then entire CD is quality and is a great addition to any CD library! Listen for yourself!

I truly enjoy listening to this album. Collin Raye performed "Circle of Life" beautifully, and I get chills listening to it. The rest of the album are outstanding as well. It was money well spent for this. Different kind of music for Disney, but Bluegrass and Disney adds up well. I like to see more Disney Bluegrass music.

This music gives me a lot of happiness. It brings back days when I watched the Mickey Mouse Club and watched the Disney Movies when I was a kid. The joyfulness of the words and music take me away from everyday tasks and worries.
I really like this CD. This was a gift for a friend. She heard my CD and said she really liked the music and wanted to share it with her Grandkids.

As a fan of both bluegrass and country music, it doesn't really matter to me whether this album contains bluegrass or country music. However, as the album is sub-titled The voices of bluegrass sing the best of Disney, I can see why some bluegrass fans complain. Two tracks are instrumental (so no voices of any kind there), while the voices on the remaining tracks are more commonly associated with country music rather than bluegrass. That said, the instruments credited are acoustic guitars, bass, dobro, fiddle, banjo and mandolin, together with occasional harmonica or autoharp, so the backing music has all the elements of bluegrass even though the overall sound comes across as a blend of country and bluegrass.
Collin Raye performs the opening track here, Circle of life (from Lion King), which he ends with a small segment of Will the circle be unbroken? He clearly enjoys singing children's music, having recorded his own album of children's songs (Counting sheep), though that's one album I haven't heard. Elizabeth Cook, a brilliant singer who would be a major star if her brand of traditional country music were fashionable, also seems to enjoy herself on Zip-a-dee-doo-dah (from Song of the south). She takes it a slower pace than Bob B Soxx and the Blue Jeans did back in the sixties, but it works well. Kevin Montgomery, who is another seriously under-rated singer, shows his brilliance on You'll be in my heart (from Tarzan). I haven't come across Caroline Brown's music before, but she sounds wonderful on Baby mine (a ballad from Dumbo). Next is a banjo-led instrumental version of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. I never cared much for the silly lyrics of this song, but it works well as an instrumental. Veteran country singer Stonewall Jackson is in good form on Bare necessities (from Jungle book), which reminds me that I still haven't bought any of his own music. Sonya Isaacs (who often records as a member of the Isaacs) sounds as good as ever on When she loved me (from Toy story 2). Amanda Martin and Lyle Goodman are new names to me, but they do a fine duet of You've got a friend in me (from Toy story). Next comes the second and last instrumental, which is a medley of Mickey Mouse club march / Ballad of Davy Crockett. Robbie Fulks does well singing When I see an elephant fly (from Dumbo) then veteran singer Charlie Louvin shows that he's still in good form on I will go sailing no more (from Toy story). Ronnie Milsap, whose own hit-making days are long past, is in top form on When you wish upon a star (from Pinocchio), which closes the album. I love this album, but you must decide for yourself if it is your kind of music or not. Is it bluegrass? Is it country? Judging the album purely by the quality of the music, I regard it as another brilliant addition to my slowly growing collection of children`s music that adults can enjoy. Actually, I suspect that adults may enjoy this particular album at least as much as children, perhaps more so.

This album really is a Disney and Bluegrass treasure. I grew up here in the Ozark Mountains and learned to appreciate Bluegrass at an early age. The mix of "Circle of Life" and "Let the Circle Be Unbroken" was a genius move by Colin Raye. Sorry for those who didn't like the album or didn't understand the style of music, you really are missing out.
