Well, this product has so little documentation that it makes you feel lost if you have any doubt. I expected to find something on the manufacturer website, but was disappointed.

Another grouse i have is, there are disproportionate number of accessories that come with the equipment. There are two disposable cups, two diluted solutions, four slides with chambers, four disposable pipettes and 100 cover glasses. Effectively, two solutions being bottleneck, you cannot carry more than two tests. That makes it real expensive for 80$ (plus shipping).

Bought this product after TTC for 6 months with no luck. We were able to see the sperm pretty clearly once we got it focused. It only took seconds to get it focused. I recommend zooming all the way in, then slowly zooming out. The only problem I have with this product is how to obtain sperm count. It comes with this "diluted solution" and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with that. The instructions are confusing. I wish that they just told you what normal will look like. Overall, worth the $80. It gave us hope b/c at least we know DH actually has sperm.

This is really a bad testing tool, I tried twice and spent an hour each time to see anything but the microscope doesn't focus at all. I even tried pepper powder and still only shows those square boxes...

I am going to call the customer service to complain against this stupid product...

I purchased this product in June of 2011 and was very happy with it. Several other reviewers stated they had trouble focusing the microscope and had trouble understanding the instructions. Either the product has been upgraded since then or these reviewers are doing something wrong. This microscope came pre-focused (and was tagged with a sticker explaining so) and the sperm could be easily viewed immediately with no need to refocus. The light from the microscope was very bright and there was no need to go to a dark room as some other reviewers noted. The instructions seemed very straight forward and detailed enough to know exactly what to look for. It was somewhat difficult to count the total number of sperm within the grid to determine the estimated sperm count as the sperm would constantly swim in and out of the area. Overall the product was easy to use, one of the few that tests more than just the sperm count, and it's just plan cool to watch the little guys moving around. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good at-home sperm test.

My doctor reccommended using an "at home" product before paying the fee at the doctor's office. The kit was easy to use and really was accurate. We still did the test at the doctor and got the same results!

Ok. I bought this product so I could figure out if I'm fertile or not. I had some X-rays in the past and was a bit afraid, so I decided to buy this thing. Now let me tell you, the instructions aren't the greatest thing in the world. So I'll tell you what I did. I followed the instructions: did my business, put the sample in the container, etc, but couldn't see a thing! Very frustrating, and I imagine that was the problem that the person below had with the microscope.

So after a lot of ineffective trying, I got the idea to turn off all the lights and look in the microscope. It worked! After half an hour of only seeing the rectangles with nothing else, I saw what I was looking and hoping for: moving sperm cells. The trick is to turn off all the lights, turn the microscope light on, and look into the eyepiece. You will have to slowly turn it around, though. If the microscope gets too close or too far from the sample nothing shows up, from my experience. And if you move the microscope too much while looking through it it messes up the focus. Sitting still in the dark and getting just the right distance I was able to see the wonder of nature.

This product gets 4 stars for helping me out, but I take 1 star off for the bad instructions. I hope this post helps you. Just remember, though, if you have trouble with the test don't feel discouraged!!!

After 4 rounds of chemo, I was concerned. I read the reviews on this product and purchased it. Many of the reviews mention it lack of documentation. I do agree with this, however its not really that difficult to use. Some mention that the microscope was hard to focus, but I did not find that to be an issue. It was actually kinda cool to see thru the microscope. I found the whole process to be easy & entertaining.

I bought this product because I wanted to check If there is any change in sperm count and motility since my husband's last semen analysis. It shows only semen swimming around or not moving at all If it's dead. It's better to go and have a laboratory test. It's expensive though.

This thing was awesome. Super easy to use, and the microscope was pre-set. Load up a slide, flick the light on, and you get to watch the little guys doing the decathlon.

My husband had a vasectomy reversal April 2010. He never went back to get his sa done, he said he didn't feel comfortable. So frustrated I looked online for an athome sa kit. I'm so glad I found this. It was amazing, at first I was a little nervous because I saw nothing. Then I realized I needed to focus the microscope. My husband and were so excited when we saw swimmers. I think both of us were thinking to ourselves that the surgery did not work. But after buying this kit we know it did in fact work. Now we just need to be patient and wait!
