Let me start by saying I'm a seasoned RC hobbyist. I've had over 50 different vehicles over the last several years, ranging from $90 RTR trucks to vehicles that cost me hundreds and hundreds of dollars. I just mention this to give a bit of background of my experience with RC things.

The Trail Trekker had been on my Wish List here on Amazon for a long time. I had wanted one to do some indoor RC driving while making trails and rock courses out of various household objects, with an end goal of making a course that was on a large table that would be somewhat permanent with bridges, tunnels, the works.

The thing was, I had never actually bought the truck. I was worried that I wouldn't use it...that it would be too small...that I wouldn't end up getting any value out of it.

Fast forward to the cold winter months here in Michigan. Temperatures hanging around 10 for weeks at a time had put an end to any outdoor RC fun. I had finished remodeling a room in my house as a dedicated hobby room...and I needed something to RC with!!!! So, I finally made the purchase. I bought mine from Amazon with no preference for color, but hoping that the silver one would be what I ended up with. A few days later I had a nice silver Trail Trekker in my possession!!!

I set about taking the truck out of the box. The box looked nice, the instructions were easy to follow, and the entire thing was easy to get out of the box. The truck itself was very small. I hadn't really realized how small it would be. However, it was exactly the size I wanted it to be!! The axles looked nice, the links looked nice, and the body looked serviceable. The included transmitter is a Spektrum transmitter, but let's be honest...

Wonderful product. Couldn't decide between a few different brands, but glad I chose Losi. Initial impression of packaging and truck was impressive. Sealed box, everything inside. Charge time is about 1 hour, then the fun begins.

I opted for the Lipo battery upgrade for a bit more run time, it does make the truck go faster, but with throttle control it is managed nicely. The controller is a nice fit, would be a bit much for smaller hands, the trigger has a bit of throw.

This is a fairly new product as I understand, not many hop-ups or upgrades out yet.

Love it, looking at buying more products from Losi.

I bought this RC Car for a visual effects class in which we built physical models for the purpose of filming. It's extremely agile, has amazing suspension, and the stock motors were able to handle the added weight of my custom made scale body. It's really unbelievably small, making it perfect for indoor adventures, but it's plenty capable of driving over piles of small rocks too.

This is my first RC car and so far this truck is great! The first day I got it I couldn't put it down. It's fun to play with inside but is made for outdoors. Climbing over things with this truck that you just cant with the average rc car (this size) is amazing.

I purchased a few new batteries with this truck and here is what I found- I searched the losi site and amazon for info about batteries to put in this thing and ended up purchasing two different kinds. Both work but offer different run times. As an electrician I knew there was a difference between the 180 mah 2-cell lipo and the 250 mah 2-cell lipo battery but I wasn't sure how it would apply to rc cars. Well it's run time. The stock 220 mah nimh battery doesn't last long at all, about 15 mins, but the lipos last longer and run the motor a little faster. The 180 lasts about as long as the stock but the 250 lasts close to 30-45 mins. Also, the 250 lipo from venom is $12 whereas the one from xcelorin is $40. Usually I'm the kinda person to believe that you get what you pay for, but these batteries are built really well and I can purchase enough to last 2 hours for the price of one xcelorin battery. Now back to the truck.

Also on the first day... I broke it. There was a long hair stuck in the driveshaft right behind the tire so I wanted to get rid of it. So I used the multi tool that came with my purchase and had the tire off with no problem. Well there is a little hexagon hub that sits on the shaft that looked like it was threaded so I used my tool on it and snapped the driveshaft where it connects to the drive axle. The hub was supposed to just be pulled off. It's my first so I didnt know what I was doing. Well the point is the next day I went to my local hobbytown and found the part that I needed.

this is an awesome toy, very durable, even just cool to hold and look at, very strong for scale size, it can drive the front tires up a vertical surface, "very cool" seller was very prompt on delivery, was very satisfied with this transaction, in my overall rating of this truck i gave it a 4 only because the factory battery run time is crap!!! but i have resolved this by ordering the aftermarked 7.4 lipo battery and charger for 30$ hopefully from what ive read this will give a little more run time/power
