5.0 out of 5 stars Better than I expected
Keypad is awesome. I was concerned that it would slip around while being used but it grips the table nicely. Easy to use/share compact and portable. Only two things would make it better -- 1) include directional arrows (without having to shift) and 2) make a snap on cover to protect it when not in use (since it is otherwise perfect for travel). 3.0 out of 5 stars It works, but a few minor complaints
I bought this because I need it for accounting work. Before I used this 10 key, I used the Logitech Wireless Number Pad N305. I bought this because I figured it would work fine and I could save $20. The main problem with this keypad is that the keys are much "heavier" than other 10keys I've used. What I mean by that is that the keys are harder to press down, and each...

5.0 out of 5 stars heaven, August 15, 2008

I do alot of number entry and with this number keyboard I no longer have to carry my keyboard to be quick with my work when I'm on the road. Heaven I'm in heaven. The greatest thing for laptop data entry work.

I have a laptop that doesn't come with it's own number pad, which is a problem considering how often I need the extra keys for gaming on it. The keys work fine, the cord is not of problematic length, it's just fine.

3.0 out of 5 stars It works, but a few minor complaints, August 25, 2011

I bought this because I need it for accounting work. Before I used this 10 key, I used the Logitech Wireless Number Pad N305. I bought this because I figured it would work fine and I could save $20. The main problem with this keypad is that the keys are much "heavier" than other 10keys I've used. What I mean by that is that the keys are harder to press down, and each keystroke takes more effort. Basically, it feels like I'm typing on an old keyboard from the 90's instead of the flat thin ones you see now. This will probably cause some joint and wrist pain in the future. This combined with the lack of a raised incline, makes me regret my puchase. This model is also thicker and wider than the Logitech model but the keys are of similar size.

The good thing is that it feels to be good quality, and will probably last for as long I need to use it. And it was easy to install, I just plugged it in and it worked. Basically, if you need a cheap keypad for ocassional use this will due fine. But if you are going to use it regularly, I would definitely recommend you purchase a model that is easier on your finger muscles and joints.

Bought this for my wife as she's a power numeric pad user and not having a real one on her Dell laptop was killing us both slowly (especially as the keyboard from the desktop upstairs kept going astray). Setup was a breeze (just plug it in) and everything just worked. We particularly like the fact that this keypad does NOT have the 00 key.

5.0 out of 5 stars Working Well with Late 2008 MacBook Pro, July 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Micro Connectors D07-122 USB 18 Key Numeric Keypad (Personal Computers)
I purchased this keypad to use with my MacBook Pro (15", late 2008 unibody model with removable battery). There is a "normal" quirky interaction with OSX when you first attach this keypad (or any other for that matter) where it asks you to press keys that don't exist on the keypad for OSX to identify the keypad. However, just pushing forward and letting the OS complain that it can't identify the keyboard works fine. After that first time hookup you don't see these messages again.
As another review noted, the numlock light doesn't light up when connected to the Mac, but that's a minor issue. The keypad works for me under OSX, including in a VMWare Windows 7 virtual machine. The cord length is long enough to allow the keypad to be easily positioned in most any position on the "traditional" right side of the keyboard even though the USB ports are on the left side of the machine. However, as the picture on Amazon suggests, the keypad has no way to easily store the cable for travel, so you'll likely want to use a tie or similar device to organize the cable if you pack it for use on the road.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great numeric keypad.. not really well-suited to MAC, May 17, 2010

I had all kinds of agony getting this thing to work with my Macbook Pro. Finally, I did a reboot with the keypad attached, and everything seems to work (except the numlock lamp will not light). This is a great keypad, but it was advertised as being MAC-compatible, and I am not sure that is quite accurate. Customer support didn't seem to have much of a clue about Mac compatibility.

My laptop doesn't have a numeric keypad but this one fits the bill. The key layout is very similar to that on a standard keyboard so I don't have to learn two different layouts. It does have a backspace key which is not standard and you will either find it very useful or a real pain depending on what you are used to.

Very substantial - comfortable keys and pad does not slide around.

The one I had previously had extra keys for 00 and 000 and I was constantly hitting them when I just wanted a single zero.

Highly recommend!

3.0 out of 5 stars Helpful but not typical 10-key layout, December 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Micro Connectors D07-122 USB 18 Key Numeric Keypad (Personal Computers)
I bought this one because it wasn't wireless. It works fine but the issue for me is I'm a pretty speedy 10-key typist and the top right key is a backspace which is where the dash is normally. Instead, the dash is below the backspace key. I find myself having to consciously think about where each is and then I backspace often when I meant to hit the dash. It seems minor, but the whole point to a 10-key attachment is to speed up your typing on a laptop. It's helped me, but it's not ideal. At this point, I'm not going to hassle with returning it, but wouldn't buy another.

Even though the Micro Connectors website said this was Apple compliant, it did not work on my MacBook Pro. I sent it back.
