Doesn't work well,
By A Customer
This review is from: Micro Innovations Numeric Plus Keypad (USB) KP25B (Personal Computers)
This unit has trouble communicating with my HP laptop (zt1180). The keypad isn't even listed on micro innovation's website, and no drivers are listed for the product.

No problems here, Works like a charm,

I didn't purchase this product on Amazon. I made a quick trip to Microcenter out of necessity. I telecommute for a major software company and had a large project dumped in my lap. I use a Toshiba laptop and run Vista. This particular product was the only one they had that specifically stated Vista compatible on it so I purchased it. It was priced a little bit more than Amazon. I had no problems whatsoever installing it. I plugged it into one of USB ports and it installed right away. It was ready to go within a minute. I have found with several of the USB accessories that I use that sometimes one of my USB ports doesn't recognize it. Usually it takes a couple of tries in the port and then it does. So for those who gave up on the first try. Please try again. It's not the product. It's your USB port. I highly recommend this product. And to those who complained after only plugging it in once...shame on you. You need to learn more about how your laptop works before you complain.

Not Mac friendly,

This review is from: Micro Innovations Numeric Plus Keypad (USB) KP25B (Personal Computers)
Bought this for my MacBook Pro, as it states it is mac compatible on the box. Once I plugged it in, it never seemed to work consistently. There are no drivers or firmware updates to remedy the issues and it sometimes prevents my logitech mouse from working correctly. I would strongly suggest you pass this one up if you're a Mac user.

Initial Mac Set-Up Problems,
By
This review is from: Micro Innovations Numeric Plus Keypad (USB) KP25B (Personal Computers)
(Please read this full review, as my initial problems went away.)I bought this to use on my MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo laptop, and when I plugged it in, the New Keyboard dialogue came up asking for me to press the button immediately to the left of the right shift key. Well, as this keypad doesn't have any shift keys, I canceled out of the set-up. I was then able to use the keypad, but every time I hit a number key, there was a split-second pause, then the number would appear on my screen, but it was accompanied by the loud "bing" noise which occurs when an illegal command entry is performed on a Mac. I have since been looking for a way to use this keypad properly on my Mac, but to no avail. ------------------------------------------------- Upon writing the above, I decided to try the keypad one last time on my MacBook Pro, and it is now working without any hesitation or illegal command noises. Why didn't it work like this right out of the package? Where I was originally going to give the keypad a 2 star rating, I will now give it a 4 star rating, as it is now working as intended.

Misleading and disappointing,
By
This review is from: Micro Innovations Numeric Plus Keypad (USB) KP25B (Personal Computers)
This was the cheapest keypad I could find, and I certainly got my money's worth. It's advertised as a Mac-compatible device, a statement that is supported by the list of Mac requirements on the packaging. Yet the device doesn't work consistently with my Mac, and their technical support agents say it's not a Mac-compatible device.Seeing how it's the year 2007, any USB device that isn't platform-independent isn't really acceptable. If you're a Mac user, stick to the old faithfuls: I ended up going with a Kensington number pad, and it's worked great.

Not exactly install friendly.,

I have Toshiba laptop with Vista. Originally when I plugged this in and waited for the drivers to install it didn't work. I was little miffed, and visited the companies website with little help (very lacking in information). I unplugged it and plugged it in again. It installed a second time, and THEN it worked. Functions fine after that, but I almost threw it away thinking it would not work.

GARBAGE - DOES NOT WORK WITH MAC,
By
This review is from: Micro Innovations Numeric Plus Keypad (USB) KP25B (Personal Computers)
This thing is garbage. It says it's compatible with OSX. It is not. If you plug it in your computer will not recognize it and will ask you to hit the key to the right of the shift key. There is no shift key. Don't buy this if you own a mac.

EASY DATA ENTRY FOR YOUR LAPTOP,
By A Customer
This review is from: Micro Innovations Numeric Plus Keypad (USB) KP25B (Personal Computers)
This device was a Godsend. I don't do that much data entry, but this keypad greatly increased my productivity when working with spreadsheets and data bases on my laptop. It worked perfectly with my Dell laptop runing Windows 2000 as soon as I plugged it in. I didn't need to install any drivers or other software.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Micro Innovations Numeric Plus Keypad (USB) KP25B (Personal Computers)
Even though my laptop has versatility it does not have a keypad. I am happy the Micro Keypad plugs into a USB port and is ready to be used when needed. Nice for Excel and Quicken and other numeric entries. I am glad it was available and priced competitively.
