3.0 out of 5 stars Works well with my Mac, but a few criticisms, June 25, 2005

This mouse has a decent response and feel, but I have a few small complaints. In its favor, it is compact yet comfortable and reasonably responsive. Also, it worked just fine with most of my Macintosh computers running OS X. Specifically, it worked out of the box with a G4 iBook running Panther 10.3.9 and a G4 PowerBook running Tiger 10.4.1 Server. It did not work with a Blue and White G3 tower running Jaguar 10.2.8, but I will retry after I update the OS.

In terms of complaints, nearly everyone mentions the battery cover. I almost went crazy over this one, partially because the instructions did not include a diagram of the mouse and where the magic battery release button would be. I guessed (correctly) that it would be the grey button in the center, but could not get the cover to come off. Searching online, I found that Micro Innovations has a PDF of the instructions containing a diagram ( http://www.mic-innovations.com/documents/PD910P-20030909.pdf page 8). Reassured that I was on the right path, I pushed the button down and toward the back of the mouse while pulling on the cover and viola, I had access to insert the batteries. I think that the instructions could have been more clear.

Another criticism of this mouse is that the "off" switch on the mouse is difficult to use. Not only is the switch difficult to reach, it is a bit stubborn to move and feels more likely to break than budge.

Overall, this isn't a bad mouse for the money. If you don't want to spend too much on a premium wireless unit, then I suggest you take a look at this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Problems, January 12, 2006
This review is from: Micro Innovations Wireless Optical Travel Mouse (Personal Computers)
I first came across this mouse while staying with my cousin, he had only owned his for a week, it was already in bad shape, the mouse wheel wouldn't press in or move. I thought that it might not actually be an inferior product, after watching my cousin act like an angry monkey and beat the brand new wireless mouse he had bought to replace this one.
So when it came time for me to buy a new mouse I remembered this one and decided to give it a shot. First problem I noticed was that the batteries wouldn't last more then 24 hours of use. Second problem was that after a week I couldn't left click on anything.
I do not abuse my computer equipment, nor accesories, atleast not physically, verbal abuse is another matter altogether however. Heh, so I expect them to function properly for longer then a week after I buy them, and returning products is kind of a hassle.
Unless your not intending to use this mouse more then, ten minutes a day, I would suggest you pass it over and buy something more reliable.

1.0 out of 5 stars A disaster, October 25, 2007
This review is from: Micro Innovations Wireless Optical Travel Mouse (Personal Computers)
The Micro Innovations wireless mouse did little more than eat batteries at a blazing fast rate. After a much too long wait, I got an RMA number from Ritz Camera from whom it was shipped. So far, they deny receiving my return shipment despite the fact that I covered most of the front of the package with clear shipping tape so as to prevent any chance of obliterating the address information. I placed the RMA number at two locations on the package, also covered with clear shipping tape.
