One of the best basic sets with over 12 functions in one set. For Poaching, steaming and Baking, this is the perfect starter set. The ten pieces combine in numerous ways. The Minicaker, Ringmaker and Cake pan can be used as either tops or bases. The vented Minicaker allows for moisture release. Excellent for baking muffins, cupcakes, stuffed vegetables, baked potatoes. It also holds the Minicups for poaching eggs and heating baby food. The Ringmaker is excellent for meat loaf, rice pilaf; gelatin molds; flan; quick breads. For cakes, puddings and casseroles use the cake pan. Cake pan has handles for easy lifting. It also makes a good plate cover for reheating. The ring and cake pans are flexible eliminating the need to grease/flour when baking. Together, the set is used for blanching fruits & vegetables.

Excellent microwave cookware,

I've been using the Micro-Mac microwave cookware for close to 15 years and I've been very pleased with the durability and ease of use of this product. In particular I like this set as it contains the basics needed for microwave "baking". While the microwave oven does not truly "bake" it does a fairly decent job of cooking quick breads. The Micro-Mac muffin pan is really good at this task as the cups allow for moisture to escape which helps prevent soggy muffins. I like the cake pan as I use it to cook veggies or to bake a quick cake layer. The tube pan can be used to "bake" a coffeecake or as a gelatin mold.
This is a sturdy, easy to clean set. Highly recommend.

I just got this today. The package box in which it was stored is shoddy, with lots of little tears in the cardboard, and quite worn on the corners of the box. Originally this box top was sealed with a thin strip of reinforced packing tape. It was not sealed when I got it. The instructions were at the bottom of the box, but that isn't enough to make me want to keep this. The insert states that this set is the ultimate in polycarbonate cookware. Polycarbonate has become a questionable material from what I have read. Had I known that before I ordered this, there would have been no order. I don't know how old this set is, but it had to have been shoved around in some storeroom for some time to make it look so shabby. This is classic garage sale stuff. I don't trust the safety factor, or the "old" look of this set, and will be returning it.

I use this every weekend to poach eggs. They come out nicely every time.
I also used this set to make muffins. My husband couldn't beleive that I made them in the microwave. They were so fluffly and light! I plan on using it to make a meatloaf in the near future.
