Got the adapter to install the Crucial m4 256GB mSATA Internal Solid State Drive CT256M4SSD3 card in my iPod, tried to format it before installing the card in the iPod but failed to format so I just installed in the iPod with the contacts facing up and connected it to iTunes and voila! iTunes recognized the iPod and asked it to be restored.

This worked great, the iPod is lighter and I have 238gb of storage available. It's a shame it didn't worked with the iPod Classic 7th generation.

My upgrade used a Crucial CT256M4SSD3 256 GB mSATA.

!!!!! One issue to watch for: A surface-mount component solder on the adapter lined up perfectly with another surface mount component solder on the Crucial mSATA causing a short, and frustration as it initially looked like either the mSATA or the adapter was not working. It was an easy fix by putting electrical tape between the adapter and the mSATA in the location of the short. Everything has worked perfectly since.

Like other reviewers have said, the ZIF connector faces up when you hook it to your iPod. I also put electrical tape on the bottom of the adapter to prevent any shorts to the iPod circuitry and taped it in place to keep it from wiggling around inside the iPod.

Saved my aging Dell D430. Replaced that old slow 1.8" 80 GB HDD with a 240 GB MSATA SSD. I'm very pleased with it. It's not lightning fast, but it's much faster than the old drive and the system running Lubuntu is significantly snappier.

This was well worth the purchase.

I purchased a usata ssd for half the price of the pata one and used this adapter to fit the 120GB micro sata ssd to my old Compaq Mini. The performance (Windows 7) is unbelievable compared to the ultra slow 60GB standard drive it had before. This came complete with two ribbon cables to help with fitment to different applications. I was back up and running very quickly, and no long wait for boot up.

Combined with a LiteOn M5M 128GB msata ssd this item increased the speed of my old Dell D430 enormously. My adaptor come with 2 cables and my first trial resulted in no functionality. Changing the cable solved the problem.

Works great and it does all that I expected. Used this item for a iPod A1136 SSD upgrade. I have no complaints.

Exactly as listed. Drive connector contacts go up on this one. Seemed upside-down at first. Did not work in 7 th gen ipod, however.
