This board is excelent. All devices work like a charm and it's good looking too, for those of you who mod cases and all that.

I upgraded from a MSI K7N2 Delta (the premium type, ILSR I think) and this one got most features the other one had with the notable exception of dolby audio and firewire (which I didn't use in the first place) and the plusses of more...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good motherboard, not so great service
A few days after the 30 day warranty expired from Computer Brain the PX Express Slot died, they wouldn't take it back and so I had to deal with the manufacturer directly. I had to pay to ship it back to MSI, they replaced it and then sent it back to me. Overall the board works well, but the service hasn't been wonderful

This review is from: Micro-Star NFORCE4 SOCKET 939 ATHLON64FX ( K8N NEO4-F ) (Personal Computers)
This board is excelent. All devices work like a charm and it's good looking too, for those of you who mod cases and all that.

I upgraded from a MSI K7N2 Delta (the premium type, ILSR I think) and this one got most features the other one had with the notable exception of dolby audio and firewire (which I didn't use in the first place) and the plusses of more SATA ports and SATA/PATA RAID (nvRaid).

Something important to note: plan ahead the kind of expansion cards (TV cards, controllers, sound, etc) you're going to use with this or any other amd64 mobo, specially regarding 64-bit driver availability. My TV card for instance, A MSI TV @nywhere Master, doesn't have 64 bit drivers yet for Win64.

In any case, you can still use a 32 bit OS and it'll run perfectly, you just won't be using the amd64 to it's full potential, but still you'll have a quite speedy 32 bit system, due to the outstanding memory controller of this babe.

Little note on 64-bit OSes: WinXP for x86-64 is, IMHO, not a too smart choice at this time. Either stick to 32-bit XP, wait for Vista (aka. Longhorn) or if you know how to use it effectively, install Linux. Ubuntu works very good on this setup, sans minor driver/kernel hiccups, you know, the usual kind.

The other major components I'm using on this setup along this mobo are a MSI GeForce NX6600 (not the gt type), Athlon 64 Venice 3000+ and 1024Mb (2x512Mb) of Mushkin PC3200 blue line memory @ CL2. All works great.

Performance-wise, it beats the stuffing out of my former setup, which was the MSI K7N2 Delta mobo, Athlon XP 2500+ Barton, 1024 Mb PC2700 CL2.5 and a GeForceFX 5700

For the price, this Mobo is a lot of bang for your buck, and I totally recommend It.

Get one now, before they're gone. I installed a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+, 2 sticks of 512mb DDR400, nVidia 7200 PCI-e graphics card. It runs perfectly. I had a little trouble installing drivers, but MSI's website is good, they had everything I needed.

This MOBO is really supreme. It's given me nice performance and quality. By the time of this review I have it

built with: Athlon 64 3200+ working with the coolest ULTRA heatpipe, (planing to upgrade to Athlon 64 X2),

1GB OCZ EL DDR400 PC 3200 Dual ch. Platinum memory, an average pciE video card (planing to upgrade to nVIDIA

geforce 7800GTX) and Two smooth hard drives ( 1 ATA 133 7200 rpm & 1 SATA 150 7200 rpm, and planing to upgrade

to Raid 0 soon ) and not to mention my DVD R and CD R beauties...

This Baby has plenty to give. It allows extreme Overclocking for every Pc Enthusiast, but I won't be getting

into this 'till I have my combo complete!!

About Design, it's cool and sharp and has everything just in the right place, so this baby is a state of the art

mOBO talking about confort. And I specially like an isolated PCI slot that is intended to be used for advanced

com devices ( like wireless).

So that's it
