I have read all the reviews & I knew before we got one of these cars that they had issues. I would have to say that most or all of the 'issues' are things an adult or older child can easily deal with. I would not recommend this toy for a younger child UNLESS they have a lot of parent support to help them get this car back on the road. Our biggest problem is that it has little tiny gears that fill up with pet hairs. It just takes a minute to pop the back wheels off & clean them out but it isn't a job for a small child.
We have also accidentally bumped the channel button - it took us a few minutes to figure out why it didn't work.
The car also has a time out after 3 minutes, after which you have to turn it off & on.
Other than those, minor & expected issues - it is an awesome little RC car! Our whole family has enjoyed this, including our cats ;o)
I would definately recommend this for an older child or adult who reads the manual ahead of time & understand that it is a little delicate machine that needs some periodic maintenance. It is not for a child that will drop it in the toy box or leave it laying out on the floor - one step would shatter it for sure.
So, for the right person, this is an awesome toy but for the wrong person, this could be fodder for a landfill...do choose this item wisely & read all the reviews. There is nothing inherently wrong with this item, it is all just knowing how to use it!

This is a great toy any kid would be lucky to have. But if you are looking for one because you saw the commercials than you may be a little bit disappointed. Don't get m wrong its great, but they over advertised it. I think you shouldn't listen to people who bash it. Its great.

Just got this and have to say I was SHOCKED at how tiny it is. It's truly about the size of a Hot Wheels car. I thought it was going to be much bigger. Additionally, it is VERY delicate. Also, it works on IR, not radio, so daytime outdoor use is not going to happen. That's OK, since it should be only be used indoors. I bought it so my son could drive it on our carpet where his other car stalls out, but forget it, it's far too small for that.

That said, it does work as advertised, the little remote is easy to figure out for kiddos and the one-minute recharge is cool. I recommend getting at least 6 rechargeable AAA batteries to rotate in and out of the remote or you'll spend a fortune on AAA batts.

It's a neat little car but again, it's REALLY tiny (it's basically the size of a slot car) and delicate, too delicate for my 3-year-old. I'm letting him play with it but I know it will only last a day and then be broken, good thing it only cost a fiver.

I'm going to get something a little bigger for him next time.

This car is great! DO NOT listen to other negative reviews, they are not accurate at all! This car is a blast to drive, even though it is strictly for indoors. Here are some pros/cons:

Pros:

Charges very fast (50 seconds)
Can handle smooth floor, carpet, wrinkled bedsheets and more
Play time is good for the charge time
Big tires help traction on hardwood
Actual suspension
Impressive speed

Cons:

Range is only about 3 yards
Trim is hard to adjust
Front wheels are loose

Overall, it's the perfect toy for anyone who's looking for some cheap fun!

Nice little piece of toy to have beside your desk. Whenever you need to take a 5-min break from busy work, have some fun with this little gadget on your desk. This toy also entertained my 4 yr old girl whenever I was busy with my work. She would find a corner in my study and play with it. With the legs of the furnitures being the road obstacles, she is learning well to control it around with great fun.

I bought two cars and recieved one as a gift. two of the cars i bought were missing the white gear to make the car move. So they don't work. Contacted seller. havn't heard from them yet. The car that works is cool

The first car we ordered lost the gear, but we returned it and got a replacement from Amazon, with no problem. My boys love it and I just ordered another one for my son's birthday.

I got two of these for my kids for Christmas. One never worked at all. Sent it back and was sent a new one. These are great, but they are way too tempermental. They've been used probably less than 60 minutes total and, at this point, are not really useable anymore. One goes at only a snails pace and one seems to go only a few inches before it stops. Very disappointing. Would like to give more than one star, but how can I? -- they don't work.

junk...it lasted to days then the wheels started falling off...had problem with the controls and charger..it sputters instead of running smooth...

Title says it all got 3 cars and they all do the same stop and go as your driving.
Limited range 20.
Pretty cool idea to fit all that in a matchbox size car wish the cars worked better and were smooth operating, very frustrating to drive as the car is hicupping along
Tried brand new batteries, checked for hair wrapped around the wheels ect... not worth it maybe there is another MFG that works better??
