There's not much to say here except the tool is well built and does its job well. It is a very simple tool. The spanners slide and lock in place easily and the wrench is easy to turn and hold. I bought the corresponding lens spanner and it was equally well made.

Made fixing a 1953 mechanical, manual 35mm camera much easier. Used it on lens mounts and special retainer rings that held parts in place. Shipped very oiled so case had residue, tool was coated, had to clean it off a little but hey, no rust.

A unique tool that is necessary for working with lenses. This one was ordered and delivered within the state time frame. I found it to be a good wrench, worth the price paid and with excellent performance. Thanks

calling this tool practical is...a nice thing to say about it.
firstly only one of the 2 crossbars lock...leaving the damn thing to slide out when you tilt it...i fought more with that than opening the lens itself. second the screws at the top dont tighten well they kept loosening. thirdly my hands hurt....no im not a little girl about it. ive replaced engines on cars and found those tools to be more comfort oriented than this. fourth-ly the ends of the tool were far to thick to fit into the fine greeves of all 5 of the lens i have. if it didnt fit in one...id say oh well but all 5 was really annoying had to take the tool outside and file the ends a bit to thin them up. not exactly a grip friendly tool. 3 of the 5 lens were so tight that i had to use a towel to hold the tool so it wont hurt my hands. i understand a ring shouldnt be so tight but it was according to factory specs leaving me to fight with them using a filed down uncomfortable tool that fell apart as i tried to use it and it left bruises in the palm of my hand the next day. i think i covered all the bases. still gave it 3 stars because after all the modding, pain and grief i got my lens open which i was not able to do with any other tool around. |
