This review is from: Micro Vault Click USM32GL Flash Drive - 32 GB (Personal Computers)
I love the Sony Micro Vault series, and have used them for a number of years (and took advantage of a target clearance to secure myself a few cheap 2GB's). Their form is very sleek and well thought out. These are "clicky" flash drives, which means, you click the flash drive like a pen to expose the USB plug. When you pull it back out of the computer, the dongle is immediately retracted back into its plastic casing, protecting it from the elements. The construction quality takes a small ding, as the parts do move around from quasi-loose fittings, but the overall finish of the plastic is great; this drive has taken quite a few beatings and not even the text has scratched off, nor are there any blemishes on the plastic. The LED is crisp, but not too intrusive, which is great because most manufacturers either make them with horrible old LED's that make them look chuggish and crude, otherwise they are blinding. The opaque plastic on the interior rail helps diffuse the bright LED to make for a pleasant ambient light as you transfer files around. My main problem is the speed, however. Transferring a 3GB file will take me nearly 15 minutes. Granted, I am using USB extensions and a USB hub on my macbook, but I have not had these writing issues with different series of flash drives (sandisk, cruzer, etc) If you are a patient person and don't mind waiting for things to transfer over, I think that the sleek and slim look of this drive is definitely worth it, otherwise you should take a look somewhere else for faster transfer speeds.

Excellent Drive,

This review is from: Micro Vault Click USM32GL Flash Drive - 32 GB (Personal Computers)
I looked at this flash drive for a while before I bought it, and I've got to admit, I'm really impressed.I was put off for a long time by its price and mediocre review here on Amazon, but when I saw it at $110 off, I couldn't refuse. I just got it, and I'm quite excited. This drive looks and feels fantastic. Many flash drive manufacturers pay little attention to aesthetics these days, so I'm glad that this drive has both form and function. The drive itself is encased in very durable plastic, and it's certainly not flimsy. The blue LED is bright, but not blindingly so, and the clickiness of the drive is satisfying (I know I'll be playing around with it a lot!). It's apparent that a lot of thought was put into designing the product, and everything has been considered (if you just pull the drive out of the USB port, it retracts into the casing automatically, no manual clicking required). More importantly, I'm really impressed by the data transfer speeds. I've read reviews of slow drives, but in my experience, this is anything but, especially compared to my old flash drives. I've found that my read speeds are about 27 mb/sec, and write speeds are 7 mb/sec (connected through the USB port in my keyboard, probably slowing it down a bit), only a little slower than how fast my hard drive can read and write. From my informal testing, I've found that a 1 Gb file transfers to the drive in about 2 minutes, and from the drive in about 30 seconds, which is certainly not bad, considering that most of my reading/writing won't even use files that size. As for its compression software, I haven't tested it out. The first thing I did was partition the drive in two (one HFS+ partition and one NTFS partition), so the compression software was overwritten. Overall, I'm really quite impressed with this drive. Huge capacity, fast speeds, and looks great. What more could you want?

FALSE ADVERTISING!!!,

This review is from: Micro Vault Click USM32GL Flash Drive - 32 GB (Personal Computers)
NOT the CLICK SERIES flash drive just plain old Microvault. This is false advertising at it's finest and even the invoice I got said Sony Microvault Click even though it clearly isn't. Crap like this shouldn't fly here on Amazon, it's times like this that makes me not want to use amazon anymore. If your going to sell it as a Microvault Flash Drive that's fine, but DO NOT sell it saying it's something when it clearly isn't. Normally I don't write reviews unless I'm very satisfied or really mad, but when I get ripped off and don't get what I paid for I get upset enough to take time out to write a review.

I own a high capacity Corsair 16GB Survivor and it has stood the test of time - still in use, but... It is truff, and it is big. Often I have to disconnect a printer or charger or something in order to have enough space for my Survivor.Sony's 32GB Micro Vault Click is just right. Great design, retractable USB nose and blue action light; and plenty of space for a traveling technician and it is speedy enough to use with Windows Ready Drive. This is a cost effective honey. I brought an open box one for 44 bucks at a big box store. I would have been satisfied to fork over 70 - 80 for it.

This drive is the best ever. The telescoping mechanism does not slip and very easy to engage. No tiny switch to irritate your fingers, a clever design.
