5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great device.
If you don't want to have your MicroCell setting in your window, this is the device for you. It's easy to install, just plug it into the jack on the MicroCell, no other configuring needed. No loss of signal either, in fact, this will allow you to place the MicroCell closer to the center of the house for better coverage throughout the house.

3.0 out of 5 stars You don't need this product
There is a work around for the microcell needing to be near a window. The microcell "remembers its location for a short period of time. I have my microcell located in the center of my house not near a window where there is no GPS coverage.

1. Plug in the microcell near a window. Let it do its stuff until it comes on line.
2. Verify your phone says 3G...

We live in an area of Michigan which has virtually no service from AT&T. Because we use Iphones, we are stuck with them. What to do?

We bought the AT&T Cisco Microcell unit at our nearby AT&T store. I was able to set it up in about five minutes using our existing dsl line and laptop. It took about ten minutes to download the programming it needed. The antenna attaches onto the unit very simply - and we were done.

It pulls in the signal and broadcasts in our home beautifully, with no fuss, no mess - easy to use. I can pick up the signal out in the yard up to about 50 yards away. In the house, we have five bars almost all the time.

I highly recommend the unit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great GPS Antenna, March 5, 2011

Out of necessity my 3G MicroCell is in close proximity to my Linksys e3000 Wireless Router. This makes for tidy distribution closet but the Wifi transmitter was interfering with the MicroCell's ability to receive GPS signals. In fact the MicroCell would not initialize at all with the router turned on. I purchased this antenna with the intention of running the cable out of the closet and closer to a window but this turned out to be completely unnecessary. With the cable still rolled up and sitting right next to the MicroCell I was able to initialize in under 5 minutes. Very cool!
kudos also to the supplier NavSphere, they shipped some day and I received the antenna next day!

The short and sweet summary is huge improvement in GPS reception over the MicroCell alone. Absolutely solve my problem.

This antenna works well. It gives you the ability to move your microcell out of the window. It picks up GPS much better than the Microcell alone. One note is that if you are having trouble with the Microcell restarting and losing its GPS your power strip may be the problem. Try plugging it in on a different outlet.

I needed a remote GPS antenna to allow our AT&T Microcell transmitter receive a GPS signal to validate our location. The Microcell is located inside out AV cabinet and this GPS antenna is now located on a book shelf hidden from view about 16 feet from the nearest window. Even with these restrictions, the antenna is able to pickup a strong enough signal to validate our location and keep the Mircocell functioning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent GPS Antenna for AT&T 3G MicroCell Wireless Network Extender, July 28, 2010
This review is from: AT&T Cisco 3G MicroCell GPS Antenna Wireless Network Extender (Electronics)
We purchased this high performance Gilsson GPS Antenna for our AT&T Cisco 3G Microcell Wireless Network Extender two weeks ago. We could not be happier, as we are able to acquire and retain lock on GPS antenna by placing the Gilsson antenna at a window in our server room surrounded by concrete. Prior to purchasing the Gilsson antenna, we have tried three other GPS antennas claiming the similar 25-28dB signal gain, yet we failed to acquire GPS signal with those non-Gilsson antennas. We learned that Gilsson makes antennas for certified aircraft and military applications and they use much higher quality Japanese-made LNA Linear Amplifier and narrow band filters (yielding a better and purer signal). Not all GPS antennas perform same, even if they all claim to deliver 25-28dB of signal gain. An amplified signal of a noisy signal is still noisy and does not provide the purer and more accurate signal as the Gilsson antenna. In our selection process, we also talked with Gilsson tech support and we learned we can further enhance incoming GPS signal by 20-30%, if we place a small piece of metal/steel below the Gilsson antenna acting as an external ground plane. For those needing more than 50 feet of cable between the window and the Microcell, you may consider using the more robust Gilsson Marine Antenna with RG58 or the lower loss (but more expensive) Times Microwave LMR cables.

We are very pleased with this Gilsson antenna. We are certain you will be happy with Gilsson's performance and quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars AT&T Cisco 3G MicroCell GPS antenna, June 24, 2011

I don't know if it helped my phone signal but the GPS came on immediately upon plugging it in.
It does not screw in just push it!
I still had no phone signal which happened one other time.
So I went online and deactivated the microcell and re-registered it which required re entering the serial #
And within a few minutes I was full bars again. I don't know if it helped the phone but I will keep it.
Just remember if you lose your signal or move your microcell; get online on your account and deactivate and reactivate.

4.0 out of 5 stars No need for a MicroCell specific antenna, it's just an MCX universal plug, June 9, 2011
This review is from: AT&T Cisco 3G MicroCell GPS Antenna Wireless Network Extender (Electronics)
They label this as a microcell gps antenna, but it is really just an MCX universal GPS antenna. The point being, they offer the same thing with a window mount for $21.93 with prime, so you get free shipping too. To review- same antenna, plus a window mount, and it's $13.01 less overall. 34.94 (no mount) v. 21.93 (free mount and shipping) Why try to trick people by using a different model number when it is exactly the same, and even comes with less? I guess people see MicroCell and figure that the difference is worth being safe and getting the right one.

As far as the actual quality of the antenna goes, it works great. My MicroCell is working much better now. The window mount makes all the difference though, so again, see the other product page. <...> (Gilsson Amplified External MCX GPS Antenna with Windshield Mount for Garmin Nuvi 660 765 855 885 TomTom Go 720 OneXL) - yes, it's the same exact antenna, with more, for less. I know it says it's for Garmin and TomTom, but they don't mention that this is the same one and it works with MicroCell because these are all MCX.

You want a clear shot of the sky unobstructed, keep that in mind.

see:<...> (Gilsson Amplified External MCX GPS Antenna with Windshield Mount...) - again, this is the actual one I went with as mentioned

I couldn't get a GPS lock without this antenna . With it , I got a lock right away . This company should partner up with AT&T and bundle the antenna with the microcell , they would make millions .

5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly!, October 15, 2011

I have the 3G MicroCell tower in my apartment because of thick brick walls and poor AT&T signal reception. The MicroCell tower only worked sporadically. After dealing with AT&T Tech Support more times than I could count (with limited results), on a whim I purchased this Cisco 3G Antenna "network extender." I wasn't optimistic because my windows face other buildings without a good view to the sky. What a surprise! Soon after placing this in my window and plugging it in to the MicroCell tower I got 5 bars and is hasn't dropped once in the last month. This product works (at least for my application).
