4.0 out of 5 stars Whoopie, a memory card!
I just got the new AT&T Tilt phone (great phone, I highly recommend it!) and of course the first accessory I ordered was this very sizeable microSD card. It's amazing how small memory is getting. It's a bit pricey right now, but hard to complain since this is the first 6GB microSD card out (at the time I'm writing this review at least!) It comes with 2 accessories, an SD...

3.0 out of 5 stars did not fit
This item did not fit into the Nokia 810 that I purchased at the same time (even though it said it would.) I returned it - no further information.

4.0 out of 5 stars Whoopie, a memory card!, October 9, 2007

I just got the new AT&T Tilt phone (great phone, I highly recommend it!) and of course the first accessory I ordered was this very sizeable microSD card. It's amazing how small memory is getting. It's a bit pricey right now, but hard to complain since this is the first 6GB microSD card out (at the time I'm writing this review at least!) It comes with 2 accessories, an SD card adapter and a neat USB plug that you can put the card and SD adapter into and then plug into an USB port. I first try the SD adpater with the card. I have two different card readers on my system and neither liked this adapter and gave me an I/O error. So I tried the USP adapter, that did work. Not a big deal for me, although a pain that I can't just plug it into the SD slots. Not sure if it's just an issue with my system, or this particular card, but it could be an issue if you really need to read the card in an SD slot alone. Otherwise, have had no issues with it so far, works great and I look forward to packing it full of music and video!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth it for me, October 17, 2007

This review is from: 6GB MicroSDHC Card with Adapter & Micromate USB 2.0 Reader / Writer (Personal Computers)
I had bought a 4gb micro SD card off ebay back in August. I had to return it since it didnt work. I still haven't received the replacement, almost 2 months after purchase. (Stay away from ebay for items like this)

Since I had a few gift cards, I went ahead and got this 6GB card. I am so happy I did so. This card worked as soon as I put it in my Nokia N95.

Going from a 1GB card to a 6GB card is like coming up for air. I can fit all my pictures and music and podcasts and still have room for over an hour of 640x480 video.

I'll wait for the 16GB or 32GB cards before my next upgrade. For now, I'm happy because my phone has a lot more freedom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Plenty of storage at a reasonable price., November 7, 2007

This review is from: 6GB MicroSDHC Card with Adapter & Micromate USB 2.0 Reader / Writer (Personal Computers)
I purchased this card to use with a 8925 AT&T Tilt handset. This Handset was designed for a Micro SDHC card up to 32GB is size. The SanDisk card was the largest I could find to expand the handset's storage capacity to 6GB. This puts the Flash memory right between a 4GB & 8GB iPhone. More then enough to store the additional Music and Applications that I wanted to carry.

Also included is a sleeve to adapt the Micro SD to a Standard SD size.
Not all PC's have a SD card slot that is SDHC compatible so SanDisk also included an SDHC compatible SD to USB card reader. With this included reader I was able to sync/transfer all the file I needed to the Micro SD card a lot faster then the handset could using its internal USB or bluetooth.

Bottom Line
SanDisk's 6GB Micro SDHC card is as easy as adding a USB Flash drive. It was the largest available 10/07 at retail. This package offers plenty of storage at a reasonable price.

Works well with most new phones (but be sure to check first if your phone is SDA 2.0 / SDHC compliant.

Do you need it now (October 2007) when it costs twice what the 4GB one costs? And when the 8GB card is just around the corner (I think and hope).

Wait a month or two and see if the 8GB comes out and then get this one for significantly less. Now lets see if I can follow my own advice - this card would hold all my new mp3s.

Update - I bought it early anyway - works fine with my T-Mobile Wing. No problem with the card sticking in my phone like with the 4GB card. Card pops right out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, November 10, 2007
This review is from: 6GB MicroSDHC Card with Adapter & Micromate USB 2.0 Reader / Writer (Personal Computers)
I popped this card into my AT&T Tilt cellphone and I was able to start using it with no issues. The included USB is great for those with old readers that don't support SDHC. Note: does not work on all devices, must support SDHC

4.0 out of 5 stars Blackberry users beware, November 24, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 6GB MicroSDHC Card with Adapter & Micromate USB 2.0 Reader / Writer (Personal Computers)
This MicroSDHC card works fine, but the Blackberry does not support SD cards over 4GB unless you have OS version 4.3. If you format this card in a v4.2 Curve, like I did, you'll get only 1.6GB of capacity because of an integer math overflow.

Blackberry OS can be upgraded freely, but unless you ordered your device directly from RIM you rely on your carrier to provide the update. I ordered mine from AT&T and they haven't yet released the 4.3 OS upgrade.

Fortunately, because SanDisk helpfully includes a USB adapter if you do format to a lower capacity you can plug the card back into your PC and resize the drive with a partitioning utility. I used some software from Paragon to do this. You still won't be able to use the full capacity without the OS upgrade though.

I give this 4 stars because even though it's a good product, some fair warning that it may need an OS upgrade to work in popular smart phones would have been nice. I could see less technical users having problems with it.

---------
Update July 2008:

I've now updated the BlackBerry OS on my AT&T 8310 to OS 4.5 using an update released by Vodafone Germany, and I can confirm that if you reformat this card in OS 4.5 you can finally access all 6GB of storage. The reason I had to use the Vodafone upgrade was because AT&T seem to be very slow in releasing OS upgrades themselves. I recommend checking which OS version AT&T is providing before buying this card.

This little card has a capacity of 6GB, which is enough to store all your pictures and mp3 files in a phone. It works excellent and I have had no problems with it at all. Also you need an SD adaptor, which is included in the package, that`s good. Recommended.

It works as expected in the N95. 6 whole GBs space for music/pictures/videos, turn my phone into the perfect mp3 player/digital camera.
