5.0 out of 5 stars Great reference June 26, 2003
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This book made medical microbiology much easier. I used this book for my medical microbiology class. It is easier to understand and it cut my study time because it was to the point. I also used the following:
Microbiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers (ISBN:0971999635)
The second book helped me prepare for the kind of questions on my medical microbiology tests. In fact, both these books helped me to get a 93 average in my medical microbiology class. I was recommended these two books from a friend of mine in another med school. He also got high grades on his medical microbiology exams.

5.0 out of 5 stars These flash cards are great October 25, 2001
Format:Cards|Verified Purchase
I'm a Microbiology Student and I use these cards every day. All the information you need to know about a certain microbe is listed on the back and a picture is on the front so you know how to identify the organism. Any nursing, nutrient, or medical student should purchase these cards - these cards will save you valued study time and you won't have to carry a heavy textbook with you - just pull out the cards you need to know and thats all you need - everything that I was tested (written or practical) was written on these cards.

Fun for all. Each card has text and diagrams that help in remembering biochemical reactions and characteristics of the organisms. I highly recommend these cards! A great review source!

3.0 out of 5 stars The books title is very appropriate June 27, 2009
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I have not read through it yet, but I usually rush into things and did not consider what this book was before I purchased it, its a small sized book (I thought it was a regular sized book when I purchased it) and its 243 pages. The title is correct, its only a quick review, its probably not good for studying, only getting the basics, probably good for people who don't study and need to do a cramming session before the test, do not buy this book expecting practice questions or in depth analysis.

1.0 out of 5 stars flash cards were disorganized and hard to read June 28, 2002
By A Customer
Format:Cards
Although others seemed to enjoy this method of learning, I found the cards disorganized and hard to use with repeated sections. I felt it was a waste of $. I still earned an A in Microbiology but found the "Clinical Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple" much more helpful. Best of luck!

A lot of books only cover lecture-based material, and don't really go into the how-to's for a lab; yet, this book covers both in enough detail to prepare you to do well in any college-based microbiology class. I got mine used through Amazon; and I'm happy with the purchase.

2.0 out of 5 stars Could be better February 17, 2008
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I'd imagine most microbiology courses for biology or science majors is going to require knowledge at a much higher level than what is on here. So maybe it would be good for a basic introductory course but for most it won't help and your time would be spent on better material.

5.0 out of 5 stars cliffs micro July 30, 2007
Format:Paperback
I'm in a very fast paced micro class. Our class is only 5 weeks long and we get the same amount of info as a normal length term. This book is going to be a life saver! I'm so glad I got it. And spending the extra $1 to see it and print some pages out on line while waiting for it to come in was a huge help, too.
