I ordered this book and am currently using it for my pre-med microbiology course. The book is extremely well written in plain english. It is very thorough and detailed, with tons of vivid pictures. In just the short 4 weeks since my micro class began, I've already learned so much from this book. I highly recommend it to anyone taking a course in microbiology.

This book is awesome for Micro, granted, I have not seen others, but it made a lot of sense and with the illustrations and online reference pages, was very helpful. I would reccomend this as a textbook for any beginning Micro class with emphasis on Body systems.

The book has very valuable information. Good to have one as a desk top reference.

I purchased this for a Microbiology class that is a prerequisite for nursing school. The author does a lot to teach to the different learning styles. One thing I really liked about this book is that when he often combines photographs with drawings for the same structures. This is really helpful in allowing the student to "see" what the text is referring to. This book is also written in plain English and is easy to read. The book is well organized with headings and learning objectives to help students to confirm that they are getting the right information from the text book. My professor used 24 of 25 chapters in my 16 week class and we weren't rushed, at all. I learned so much from this class and this book. I'm not a visual learner, so I read the chapter first and then went back and reread the chapter looking at the pictures. If a concept was particularly complex, (such as the bacteriophage lysogenic replication cycle) I drew my own version of the pictures the author provided. This really helped me to grasp the concepts. This book is a great tool if you and your professor use the tool.

This was a book I needed for a class I was taking. Thanks to amazon.com, I could get the book at a cheaper price than my overpriced campus bookstore.

Saved about $100 buying this book used, it looks brand new. :) Couldn't be happier! It also came very fast.

Does anyody know if the Kindle edition has page numbers? I downloaded a sample but I don't see page numbers

It is a good book with the right prof does not get confusing, test and post test r awesome very specific but yet general from the book , it explain why it's wrong and so e times explain the correct answer.

I bought this book for my microbiology class. The chapters are not too long, but hold enough information to portray take home messages. There are also many charts, diagrams, and pictures to better the learning process of these small, yet complex microorganisms. I highly recommend using this book over others because it simplifies the basic understanding of this topic and is easy to understand.

When I First went online to amazon.com, I looked for a used text book, and I found a lot of different prices which are affordable. Every seller describes the condition of the book. Based on the descriptions, I ordered the text book. when I got the book, it was exactly the same as it was described.
