Berdell R. Funke has spent over thirty years as a professor of microbiology at NorthDakota State University. As a research scientist in the Experiment Section at North Dakota State, he has published numerous papers on soil and food microbiology. I used this book for microbiology class and it is very helpful. Tortora is a great writer. Each chapter is very organized and quite easy to understand. I also used the following:
Microbiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers by Patrick Leonardi
The second book had the type of questions that were asked on my microbiology undergraduate exams. My study group and I found both books excellent
