This book was a recommended study guide for my microbiology class. I found this book to be great for test preparation. The last review seemed to be mean-spirited. How could the previous reviewer make such an assumption without even reading the book? I wouldn't be surprised that this title appeared as a recommened reading in other book listings because it's a great study guide. Anyway, this book contributed to me getting excellent grades in my microbiology class. This book showed me which info was important for my exams.

I'm a medical student and found this book to be an excellent study guide. It helped me with studying for the USLME Step 1. I don't agree at all with the previous negative review. I give this book 5 stars because it showed me the type of questions to study for on my medical microbiology exams. It also proved to be a wonderful reference for USLME Step 1.

This book helped me pass microbiology class at my med school with an A. It had similar questions to the class exams. It also helped me decrease my study time because it focused on the key topics. This is a must book for anyone in the health field taking a class in microbiology.

This study guide was on target with a lot of medical microbiology questions on the USMLE Step 1. In fact, I passed this test the first time with the help of this book. I also have some chiropractic friends who said they used this book on their microbiology section of their chiropractic board exams and it helped them to pass. In addition, I found this study guide to be very complete for the amount and type of questions that could be asked on the USLME Step 1. Basically, I recommend this book to anyone in the health field (i.e, medicine, chiropractic, nursing, physical therapy, osteopathic)taking a class exam or medical board in medical microbiology. This book is a must buy. I wish I had this book for my medical microbiology class because it would have made passing the class much easier.

I took microbiology in college and found this study guide to help me a lot with the type of questions to look out for on my exams. I was recommended this book from my sister who used this as a reference to study for the microbiology portion of USLME step 1. Questions in this book are very similar to the ones the teachers give in the introductory course of microbiology. Yes they are easy but how many questions you need to miss to get a low grade? It's value is in getting those few extra percents if you want that A+. I know it helped me in this capacity. But word of caution, I wouldn't be bragging about this book to your teachers...

I bought this book based on other reviews that rated it so favorably. Initially, I balked at the price and admit that the price is the major reason why I gave it 4 stars, not 5. The price is absolutely ridiculous. However, if you are willing to pay the price of what this book costs, it is well worth your money. The questions really helped me on my exams for my undergraduate microbiology course and helped to reinforce the major concepts. I used this book with Schaum's Outline of Microbiology and I received an A in my course.

As a pre-nursing student, the competition is fierce to get into a program. When I first received these study guides I thought I had paid way too much for what I got and thought the material simplistic. What I found is that 25% to 35% of my test questions were very close to the examples given. If you are a serious student, these guides are another tool in your total study regime. They are not intended to be your ONLY source of study and review. There are no easy ways to learn the Sciences, but these focus on some of the commonly tested areas. I wanted all the resources I could find and it paid off with A's.

This study guide is absolutely not for medical students and I made the mistake of wasting my money on it. trust me, it's better to get Levinson review of medical microbiology and immunology then this book. This book is probably best for undergraduate. the covers are done as if it were made at home. Not professionally made at all!
