This textbook is GREAT. I'm taking the class online (no lecture) and I was worried that I would not understand the material. However, this book is written so you can understand and process the information. Very good illustrations and examples. Microbiology A Systems Approach
The book is just what I need for school; however I ordered a hardcover and got a softcover that is a little beaten up... Shipping was pretty fast.

This textbook is GREAT. I'm taking the class online (no lecture) and I was worried that I would not understand the material. However, this book is written so you can understand and process the information. Very good illustrations and examples. They have mini summaries in the middle of the chapter, review questions at the end. The website is a FANTASTIC support too with practice tests, flashcards, Power Point reviews of the textbook and audio summaries. I had a crappy Biology book last semester, so this textbook has exceeded my expectations and is a pleasant surprise. I would highly recommend this book.

I received the book in the same condition as indicated in the description. It got to me within two weeks of ordering it and it's used but still in good shape. It was definitely worth paying $12 rather than buying the newest version and spending $150. My only drawback was not having a way to track the shipment, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. My condo doesn't like to leave deliveries on the doorstep and I have to go into downtown to pick up my packages at the post office. It just would have been nice if I could have had a better idea of when I'd be receiving it. Other than that it was a great buy!
