With its companion book (theory) this is a course using the MikroElektronika MikroC compiler and their excellent EasyPIC6 demo board, which uses the powerful 16F887.

He goes thru the usual early stuff on numbers etc and on to a series of examples that cover all the main features. I have always learned most from examples.

The two books, combined with the demo board and the compiler are all you need to program your own chips.

He also has an excellent book on CAN technology (Bosch).
