Didn't respond until the amazon guy got involved in. Deducted 1/4 money even I returned within the mentioned period and almost kept the book almost intact.

I'm currently reading Economics at a leading university in the UK and this is our core text for the first year. As some others have noted, it is a bit mathematically-light, but for a first course in microeconomics, it's ideal. The book is well-written, very clear, very succinct, and it uses real-life examples which makes the theory more applicable and easier to understand.
I've looked and tried to use other textbooks to supplement this one, but really none come close. All the content is there, it's extremely thorough, and the mathematical derivations are in the back of the book for those who want to know. Also the book is quite modern in outlook and use of game theory, which is quite extensive for an introductory book. For my second year I'll need something more advanced, and most definitely more mathematical, but for my introductory microeconomics textbook, I can't find anything better. You certainly won't regret buying/using Perloff. |
