5.0 out of 5 stars Best Economics Book
If you are looking for an economics book that isn't going to put you to sleep, this is the one. It is complete yet interesting to read. Yes, I said interesting in the same sentence as economics. Arnold uses many real life examples that the average student can relate to and keeps the math to a minimum (there is an appendix for this stuff). By far the best intro to econ...

1.0 out of 5 stars Kindle Version Is Terrible
I read the reviews and rolled the dice. I am tired of lugging around heavy and bulking books and spending so much for textbooks. Digital versions are right up my alley. I read the reviews and rolled the dice. I am tired of lugging around heavy and bulking books and spending so much for textbooks. Digital versions are right up my alley. I should have contacted the publisher when the semester began but I can't believe they are not already aware of the issues. Here are some of the issues:

1) Entire images were missing - There would be a description for a graph or image but no image would appear.
2) Entire sentences would be replaced with text such as - AXNFHF HDKKSU HD HDIIWJ. I don't know what the intended text was.
3) Typos galore! Too many examples.

The text itself was as good as an economics book could be. The book itself would probably be 3 or 4 stars. Would I recommend getting the Kindle version? Sure. It is portable and if you rent it for the semester it is cheaper. Just know that you will be frustrated because of terrible quality. The publisher should really be ashamed of themselves.

FYI - I used this eBook on an iPad, iPhone, MacBook Air, and iMac. The issues were the same on all.

1.0 out of 5 stars kindle version problem, July 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The kindle version of this book has not been edited. Full of spelling errors. There are what seems like some missing exhibits. Text exhibits are so low Res you can barely read them. If you are a student and plan to buy this book, buy the paperback. I would have switched if I could.

5.0 out of 5 stars comprehensive yet easily understood by the novice economist, September 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Microeconomics (Paperback)
Roger Arnold makes reading of economics similar to reading a good mystery novel. He provides examples of how economics can be found in unexpected places. The models he uses makes analysis of difficult economic principles into an accessable tool that any beginning economic student can use. Also included in the book are internet addresses for students to further their knowledge of any topic that interests them. In addition, the book conatins information on how to think like an economist, so that the student can better understand the world and the events that occur around them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Beware of Renting the Kindle edition, September 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My rating is based more on Amazon's seevice than the book itself. The book does contain typos and the exhibits are very difficult to read on the kindle. I was using my PC, which was ok. My complaint is that I rented this for almost $85 and due to circumstances I dropped out of college this semester. I contacted Amazon (this was 2 weeks into the semester) and was told I couldn't get a refund or even a credit. I even asked for a partial (dropping me to the lowest rental period) but that was also denied.

I have been a good customer for many years and I was able to readily return the text books I bought, everything except the kindle one. So if you rent it make sure you really are going to stay with the class because an $85 investment on a book you don't need and can hardly read is a waste of money. I won't be renting any more Kindle editions.

2.0 out of 5 stars Microeconomics Review, February 10, 2009
This review is from: Microeconomics (Paperback)
The textbook is a little complicated to understand. You really have to take the time to read all of it in order to understand any of it. It could have been written with easier reading.
