4.0 out of 5 stars A good book
This book is a very good book. Care has been taken to explain details very carefully. There is an extensive list of problems to tackle. But I'd suggest that a reader use this book in conjunction with another more elementary book, Electroinc Principles by Malvino becuase for some readers the extensive usage of mathematical analysis might prove to be a 'turn-off'. However,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Reasonable Introductory Text
This book covers most of the standard topics in a third year university course in electronic circuits.

It is accurate, but rather unimaginative. It does not do enough to describe the context in which circuits arise, nor to describe the design process. It also fails to tell the reader what comes next: that is, where is all this going, what is our next course, and so...

However, for an undergrad course, one needs to know what is given in the book and when used in conjuction with Malvino, it makes a winning combination. Overall, a good book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Detailed and up-to-date reference, June 1, 1998
By A Customer
A detailed book. Covers a lot on MOS technology and explained how transistors are used in digital electronics. Some good examples too! This book covers those important elements which are left out by introductory or standard books on electronics.

Its strong point is a lot of problems that, if worked, should provide a good background for the student.

2.0 out of 5 stars Detailed theory, great as a reference, October 2, 2000
By
Alex (Albuquerque, NM USA) - See all my reviews
The book is very descriptive in the area of theory but less so in the area of fully worked problems in use as a classroom textbook. The organization of the book material from one topic to another could be better.

The second edition of the book is about the same as the first exept for the introduction of a website about the book and a cd-rom with slides and sample programs for electronics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Comprehensive, August 2, 2006
I am an undergrad and I think this is a great introductory book. It is extremely comprehensive and detailed. I highly recommend it if you really want to learn the material in detail.

5.0 out of 5 stars A definitive review of Electronics, February 8, 2011
I took Electronics I & II from Don Neaman. He is a very remarkable person with a strong will. I remember the sheer brutality of his exams, which I think were possibly just sadist punishment for his students in the last year before he reitred. It was one of the best courses I've ever taken on any subject, I still feel like these courses were a turning point for me in electrical engineering and I have applied this knowledge in both academia and industry. This is a great college textbook on electronics, and is at the sophomore/junior level, for students who have already taken elementary circuit design I & II. You may need a tutor to guide you on the concepts/applications of these transistor-based designs, if you are trying to teach yourself.

1.0 out of 5 stars The Incident of the lying Seller T__T, September 27, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I hope no one will buy any of this guys things. He has a picture of this textbook, then he marks it up as $6. When you get your delivery the package content: solution manuel...except it's CD...that doesn't work. If I wanted to be mean I'd call him a douche bag...but I won't I'll just call him a jerk for making his customers think they are purchasing something, then give them something else in the hopes that they won't bother to request the money back because it is too much trouble. I am a student and this jerk's fiasco cost me a bit of academic credit...in terms of keeping up with a class. So...PEOPLE! don't buy from him. SELLER! you need to reasess how you earn money because someone is going to get really upset one day and do something serious.

K then, thanks. =)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Electronics Book, May 11, 2009
This book helped me pass Electronics I easily. I never thought of myself as an electrical engineer, because I am a computer engineer. However, this book was useful to me and the diagrams helped me understand the topics.
