From Library Journal
This book uses the semiconductor industry as an example of what is happening to United States and world competition in the technological markets. International competition in microelectronics has completely changed over the past ten years in terms of who the power players are, and the authors point out clearly the ramifications for the U.S. if the semiconductor industry dies out in this country. They analyze current industrial and governmental efforts to avoid such a development and suggest a comprehensive set of actions to prevent further decline. This is an unsettling book. If the trends continue, we will find our position much changed internationally . This book will at least help general readers and specialists understand why. Hilary D.
