Product Description

The Microflex UltraSense disposable, chlorinated, powder-free standard length nitrile glove has textured fingers and an external polymer coating. It has a palm thickness of 3.1 mils and a finger thickness of 4.3 mils, and is 9.6" long from the tip of the middle finger to the edge of the beaded wrist cuff, which is 2.8 mils thick. It is suitable for dental, emergency medical services, healthcare, industrial safety, and laboratory applications. Nitrile provides better elasticity than vinyl, better puncture resistance than latex or vinyl, better abrasion resistance than chloroprene, and helps reduce the likelihood of allergic reaction. The glove is textured along the length of the fingers for improved grip compared to a glove with textured fingertips. A polymer coating has been applied to the external surface to help prevent tapes and adhesives from sticking to the glove. This glove has been washed in a diluted chlorine-based solution to help reduce tackiness, providing lower surface friction than a non-chlorinated glove and allowing quick donning in wet environments. This powder-free glove leaves no residue, helping to reduce the likelihood of spreading bacteria compared to a powdered glove. The color of this ambidextrous glove is blue.

Tensile strength, measured in megapascals (MPa), is the amount of force required to rip a glove; the higher the number, the stronger the glove material. This glove has a tensile strength of 30 MPa before aging and 25 MPa after aging. Elongation measures how much a glove can be stretched before it breaks. It is expressed as a percent of the original length of the glove at the moment of breakage, and the higher the percent, the more the glove can stretch. This glove has an elongation of 500% before aging and 400% after aging. Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) is a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) quality specification for the defect rate in surgical and exam gloves. The FDA requires an AQL of 1.5 for surgical gloves and 2.5 for exam gloves. This glove has an AQL of 1.5, which means the defect level from a large sample of the gloves will not exceed 1.5%. Microflex examination gloves meet or exceed applicable standards imposed by ASTM International, formerly known as the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), and the FDA.

Disposable and limited-use gloves are used in medical, forensic, scientific, art, and industrial applications. Gloves are commonly made from flexible materials such as latex, nitrile, chloroprene, and vinyl. While most disposable gloves are designed for either hand, some can be purchased in hand-specific models. They are offered powdered or powder-free; silicone or silicone-free; chlorinated or non-chlorinated; coated or uncoated; with a standard- or extended-length cuff; sterile or non-sterile; and with textured or smooth fingers, fingertips, and palms. A glove's abrasion, cut, and puncture resistance is defined by glove material and thickness, and may be improved with the use of certain exterior coatings. Abrasion resistance means the glove helps protect the hand from contact with rough objects. Cut resistance means the glove helps protect the hand from blades and sharp instruments. Puncture resistance means the glove helps protect the hand from pointed objects such as pins and needles. Chemical resistance means the glove helps protect the hand from certain chemicals. Chemical resistance is defined by glove material, thickness, and length, as well as the work environment and chemicals likely to be encountered. I am an FF/EMT working with a fire department and a private business and I absolutely love these gloves. They are the most comfortable feeling gloves I have used and I do not tear through them like I do other Nitriles. They have a nice blue color and I can write on the back of the gloves like I can with latex. You get 50 pairs in a box instead of 50 gloves. I use many different brands of Nitrile - like High Five's Cobalt (Blue), Blaze (Orange) and Best N-Dex Free Hi-Viz Green gloves (Both the thin and thick versions). While I like all of those, especially the Hi-Viz Green gloves, they do not feel as good as the UltraSense, nor are they as durable. Occasionally I "pop" a finger with the other Nitrile's I use while working on a pt., but have never torn the UltraSense. I used to carry the Hi-Viz Green, using the thin version for Illness related calls and the thick version for Trauma, but since using the UltraSense, have switched to them exclusively. I will be ordering the EC or extended cuff version of the UltraSense to use for Trauma related calls and FD use as I am extremely pleased with my trial period of these gloves.

Very good quality. They hold their shape, allow superior dexterity, grip and tactile sensation. The tend to tear a little more than some brands that are not as good in the areas just listed. A very good price for the number and quality. Most elastic of any brand I've tried.

I use gloves like these to keep from getting splinters when I'm doing woodworking projects and to keep my hands clean when I'm staining wood or mixing and using epoxy and other glues. They have been the best so far of the brands that I have used. Two other brands I've used (at about $8 per 100) were thinner and worked fine for gentler jobs. So far, these are thicker and don't rip as easily. For example, after staining wood I cover the stain can then take off a glove and stretch it inside-out over the can and can top so I can hammer the top tight with no splash. These are the strongest so far and the only ones that didn't rip when I stretched them over a stain can.

I bought these after I tried a free sample from the company. Our main purpose for these gloves is to cut hot peppers. These are good because You can still get a good grip on the pepper and there is a lot of feeling (important when using a knife!).

My daughter uses these gloves in the lab at vet school. She likes the weight/thickness of them and her lab partners do also. She has an allergy to latex and no problems with the nitrile gloves.

These are my favorite nitrile gloves to date. I prefer nitrile gloves not only because I have a mild latex sensitivity, but because nitrile gloves hold up much better for me than latex gloves. I don't know how I can be so hard on gloves, but sometimes even just flexing my hands makes the gloves break. That goes for Nitrile gloves as well, but it happens less often. And it's me, not the gloves, because other people doing the same exact tasks I do don't suffer frequent glove "blowouts". I like these particular gloves because they feel almost as sensitive and stretchy as latex gloves.
