I was unable to get the pulse rate monitor to work for me. I called the Microlife home office and followed their instructions and the monitor still would not work. They suggested I send the monitor back to Amazon.com which I have done. I am disappointed that it did not function for me. It is a nice looking monitor and my Doctor had suggested I obtain one with the EKG technology. Thank ypu. PLD.

The heart rate monitor seems to work best if your skin is damp. Under drier conditions you will need to dampen your fingertips before touching the contacts; otherwise the readings may be inaccurate(unusually high.) Contacts are in an awkward position...a more ergonomic position would be at the "2 o'clock" and "7 o'clock" postitions. The straps do not seem proportional(too small)to the size of the watch. The sound alerts are almost inaudible, unless you have the watch within 6" from your ear.

This the second Microlife watch I've bought. The pulse readings are very accurate (I've checked them against doctor measurements and store machine measurements). Only reason for having to buy a new watch was that the wrist band on the first watched rotted, and unfortunately it's a custom band and I couldn't get a new one at a watch store.

I've had my Microlife watch for 3 years now and just had to replace the battery. It has always worked as described, the EKG heart rate function is extremely accurate and gives the exact same heart rate as my less comfortable chest strap monitor with my exercise equipment. My only negative is that the control button descriptions were not more permanently marked on the watch face, and they are totally worn off now, making function selection a trial-and error game.
