I'd seen all the chefs on FoodTV using microplane graters, but you never know if something will work as it's advertised to -- this does. I bought the double one thinking that the wider grating surface would be better. After using both the large and small graters, I'm completely sold. It's superb for grating garlic, onion, cheese, chocolate and for zesting it simply can't be beaten. You can zest a whole lemon in seconds, and the zest just melts into whatever you're doing. I used to use a zester and then chop the results, which were never as fine as I liked it. So, if you're looking for great results, BUY this grater!

I am very pleased with this grater. Not only does it grate cheese, in particular parmesan, with ease, but it allows me to use fresh garlic (which I love) in virtually any recipe almost instantly without the tedious task of mincing it with a knife (which I hate). If you frequently use ingredients that require grating, you can't go wrong with the Microplane! Note: for best results, rinse off as soon as you are done using it--otherwise, you may find yourself "grating" your sponge!

As the other reviewers have said, this is an incredible product. You should buy it. However, the "Customers who bought this also bought..." section recommended a slider attachment that keeps you from slicing your fingers off. Good idea, but it doesn't fit this model. Be aware that the 35000 series is a different size from the 37000 series and the accessories aren't interchangeable.

Avid cook and baker. Purchased this on a whim based on stories I've heard. They're all true. This is a wonderful device. The blades are easy to swap, fairly easy to clean. Unbelievable lemon zester. The time saved to do just a few lemons is well worth the price. I've tried other zesters and have been generally pleased, but the microplane lets you do a whole lemon in just a few seconds. AMAZING!

Need a more course blade for garlic, though.

I asked for this microplane for Christmas and I absolutely LOVE it. I cook a lot and would cringe when a recipe called for lemon zest but now zesting is so fast and easy with this product. Works great with fresh ginger too. I'm definitely hooked!

I remember Julia Child making comments years ago about her pastry brush. She was using a particular paintbrush that could be purchased at Sears for $3, and did a better job than most professional ones.

Well, take a woodworking tool and apply it to kitchen use, and you have the MicroPlane Grater. This thing is absolutely the best tool I have seen in years! I got the interchangeable one since I am the only person in the kitchen, so economics of space dictated my choice. However, if you have the room, buy the individual models so both can be used. It cleans easily, and grates perfectly.

I have yet to have someone try this grater and not go out to buy one for themselves. Try it once and you're hooked. It's that good.

This system makes other graters obsolete. I can perfectly zest an entire lemon in 30 seconds with the fine blade! The coarse blade is ideal for grating Parmesan, Romano and other hard cheeses. It is much easier to use than crank-type graters because you don't have to cut everything into small pieces, and you aren't left with a C-shaped piece that just won't grate! These blades are sharp, sharp, sharp, and stay that way.

What a great (or grate) idea - take a precision woodworking tool, put a kitchen-friendly handle on it and you've got the best culinary hand tool in a decade! The Microplane graters are absolutely the most wonderful gadgets....easy to work with, easy to clean and good for so many tasks. And the idea of two graters and one handle is terrific! Bravo!!

This is the most useful grater/zester I have ever used. Buy this for yourself and as a gift for the at-home-chef that has everything. It makes pillows of cheese and mountains of zest.

I love these graters. They are not overrated by other reviewers. I have used them to zest lemons, grate garlic, ginger and parmesan cheese.
