Great for getting 'winter feet' sandal ready, April 5, 2006
This review is from: Microplane Foot File (Health and Beauty)
I just got my Microplane Foot File yesterday. My heels were very cracked & rough, despite using various creams & lotions that are supposed to smooth rough feet & help get rid of callouses. I'd also been using a regular buffer, and had been using a (yikes!) callous shaver. The buffer only minimally worked and the shaver usuall worked and signified that it had removed the callous by delivering a sharp pain followed by blood.
I used the Microplane for about 5 minutes on each foot (no soaking or moisturizing required before use) and immediately noticed a difference.
The second use this morning, followed by a moisturizer, and I have new feet with no pain, raw spots, or cuts.
I'm 36 weeks pregnant and was able to manage they gymnastics required to get to my feet long enough to make this work with no problem.
I suggest you use this outside or over a big sheet of newspaper to catch the tiny skin flakes that fall off - kind of a gross topic but better gross in writing than on your carpet. :)
Now if I could just reach my feet long enough to paint my nails...

Great Invention!, June 8, 2006
This review is from: Microplane Foot File (Health and Beauty)
Wow! Is this a terrific "must have" personal item or what. Okay, I have "Fred Flintstone" feet. . .you've never seen so much calloused and thick, dead skin. Unlike most scrappers (the instrument is actually called a "foot rasp" by the way), this one REALLY does the trick. The great bonus is all the dead skin is caught in the box and not on your bedroom or bathroom floor. You just empty it in the toilet or garbage can. Painless, eash to hold, comes with a sand buffer for finishing. The amount of "skin flakes" inside the box when I first used it was....well disgustingly large (like 1/3 cup). This is THE most impressive little gadget I have seen in years. I'm giving them to everyone as gifts next Christmas!

Very Impressed, June 22, 2006
This review is from: Microplane Foot File (Health and Beauty)
I have to agree with what's already been said. When summer comes around, I dread sitting with a little pumice stone or file and sawing away to try and get rid of the dead skin. I picked this up and I have to tell you--I'm in love. No more worrying about soaking long enough ahead of time, you just do it on dry feet.
It doesn't hurt at all, it feels like any other slightly roughened foot file--but with much better and cleaner results. Now I'm ready to wear strappy sandals without worrying about the buildup of dry skin.
