Amazon.com Review
Microplane graters were originally designed for the woodshop, but you can't keep a good grater down, and the company's products soon made their way to kitchens around the world. Each of these two graters (one fine and one coarse) generates shavings for all your favorite foods. The fine grater zests lemons, grates Parmesan and other hard cheeses, shreds nuts, and purées garlic, while the coarse grater is better for grating chocolate or coconut, or for producing slightly larger shavings of certain cheeses or garlic. Both graters are manufactured using 18/8 surgical-grade stainless steel, and their razor-sharp, non-clogging teeth should last for years. Each unit features a grating area that measures 4-7/8 by 2 inches, with an overall length of 11 inches. The graters are also dishwasher-safe.
