4.0 out of 5 stars EXPERT ANALYSES OF THE ENTIRE .NET ENTERPRISE SERVERS, November 11, 2005
By
This review is from: Microsoft® .NET Server Solutions for the Enterprise (Paperback)
The audience of this book includes any corporate officer, who is involved in the deployment, evaluation, support and maintainance of Microsoft-based Enterprise Information Technology apparatus. Its chapters focussed more on IT decision making, implementation, and development.
This book is an easy-to-read piece, which lent extensive coverage to all the components of Microsoft .NET Enterprise Servers and their respective technologies. Wide range of issues concerning planning, integration, deployment, development, management, applications, performance, reliability, networking, and security were all tackled in details. And, the discussions included elaborate analyses of all the ten prominent (2000 editions of) Microsoft .NET Enterprise Server software. Those are high-performance software like: Commerce Server, Content Management Server, SQL Server, BizTalk Server, Exchange Server, Application Center, SharePoint Portal Server, Internet Security & Acceleration Server, Host Integration Server, and Mobile Information Server.
"Microsoft .NET Server Solutions for the Enterprise" did a very good job in using real-life scenarios to explain complex technical issues. Its information are quite simplified; and included all the Microsoft tools and technologies, which can be applied in solving e-business and general web-based problems. Using e-commerce as its main anchor-point, this book ramified every aspect of COM+, XML utilities, and ASP-dependent technologies. The numerous contributors, who authored this book, left no one in doubt as regards their individual prowess and expertise. It remains an invaluable text for anyone, who is involved in e-commerce: using Microsoft's technologies.
