Excellent learning guide. Like the title says, the book takes you step-by-
step through Microsoft Office. The instructions are very easy to follow. The book also has summary sections, so you can brush up without actually being on the computer. I'm very pleased. Randy Kadish

I found the info for each component of MS Office was insufficient to warrant the price. I wound up having to purchase an individual book for each component to make sure I knew the real capabilities of the component.

I found this book to be most valuable in using Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007. It describes and teaches you the skills you need to use this program more efficiently.
Even if you used this program before, which may have been an older program, it will be a big help to you. The CD that came with it is a plus especially for new users. Sincerely, Mary Graczyk

Even if you are a veteran MS-victim, you will be frustrated to the point of exasperation. The authors are hardly capable of writing a discursive paragraph. Rather, the book is delivered in the clipped and impatient style of the techno-geek who never read a work of history or literature, and never had be be understood for his living. Nearly useless.

I have found that this book helps immensely with the Office Home and Student software from Microsoft. The book is also published by MS which assures you that they both work in concert with each other.
But, beware of the pitfall I encountered. The book comes with a CD. Make sure when you get the book, you remove the CD and place it in your optical drive to assure yourself it works. The CD contains practice files which can be used with each of the four parts of the software namely, Word,Excel,PowerPoint, and OneNote.I had a defective CD,which upon a phonecall was replaced by Amazon. I did have to call Microsoft for some guidance, which they provided! Other than that,it(book) is a wonderful additive to working with the software. Steve

More like Leap by Leap,
This review is from: Microsoft® Office Home and Student 2007 Step by Step (Paperback)
Reading the instructions for the Word portion was like decipering how to put together what looks like a simple toy that was made in a foreign land. The instructions are poorly written unless you know the language from which they were translated. There are better, simplier books made for dummies like me.

This book is very well written and organized. As someone well versed in Office 2003, I found it too elemental for me, but I would recommend for someone new to Office or those not familiar with many of the abilities of prior versions. The included CD with exercises is a great addition.

I need all the help I can get to do computer-related things, and this is a great reference book for, not only "dummies" like myself, but geeks as well. More than worth the price, and I'd highly recommend it.
