5.0 out of 5 stars J Sharp, Future of Java Developers
This book is an excellent example of how an IT book should look like. Explaining the depths of .Net Framework, as well as using J# and Asp.net. It's a shame that a great deal of people do not pay attention to the importance of J#. 2.0 out of 5 stars A lot of fluff
So many words, explaining so very little. Very frustrating as you have to do some leg work to follow the examples, it's not a step by step book so it assumes current knowledge levels, which oddly enough, if you had, you wouldn't need this book. The examples don't lend themselves to real world scenarios so q bit ridiculous viewing book with that perspective.

This book is an excellent example of how an IT book should look like. Explaining the depths of .Net Framework, as well as using J# and Asp.net. It's a shame that a great deal of people do not pay attention to the importance of J#. J# is the best way for Hardcore Java programmers to combine their knowledge of Java with the superiority of .Net Foundation classes in order to produce Windows Applications. J# is a very good option for Asp developers, who would rather use Java for their applications, rather than Jsp. The war on the future of Java has begun, and C# and J# together are tough to beat.

This was definitely a useful book.

It doesn't say much about the Java syntax, because there are five million other Java books out there.

This book, rather, is all about being able to learn Microsoft .NET without having to learn another syntax at the same time.

So, this books allows you to only learn .NET, while retaining Java, then if you want to become a professional developer you can move on to a language like C# without having to learn .NET. Sadly, even though J# is useful, it is dying(wasn't released in VS 2008 or VS 2010) so we may have to move on.
