This review is from: Microsoft Access 2002 Visual Basic for Applications Step by Step (Step by Step (Microsoft)) (Paperback)
I'm someone who's trying to teach herself VBA for Access, and this book was ideal. I suppose for someone who already has a heavy background in VBA, it might be too simple, but in my case, the book taught me several dozen neat techniques for improving my Access experience. It was both easy to follow and highly useful. I couldn't be happier about having bought it. If the book cost three times as much, I'd still buy it. I can't wait to buy Mr. Callahan's next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to understand, easy to use, a little tricky 2 implement, July 28, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Microsoft Access 2002 Visual Basic for Applications Step by Step (Step by Step (Microsoft)) (Paperback)
First off, if you are a beginner at programming, this book is great. The book gives you easy to understand, hard to fail examples that walk you through the code and gives you a basic understanding of what your writing.
The only time I struggled was when I was trying to implement the code to my own applications. This is the book's only short coming in that it doesn't explain the possible errors that you might encounter. Eventually, I was able to figure out the reasons for my problems, but it took a little time. But I have a few different books, including the VBA handbook and my feeling is that this book does the best job of getting you moving along. If you plan on writing a lot more code, eventually you'll probably want to pick up one of the large reference books, but for learning the ropes, start with this book.
